Another game quickly since i had the large gap before the Sitting Bull game. No checking was done on map so do not be surprised if an AI is able settle lots of land. Continents purely cause some people have been talking about games were your not able to meet all AIs :)

Commentary after moving scout and settling:
Spoiler :
I moved the scout SE, and then SE again. Thought abit about settling 1S... But saw that I would lose a hill that way with fogbusting.

So I SiP.

You are too genereous Habitus! This x-mas present is just too much! :D

I don't know how to play this opening properly...
Too many possible plans.

Spoiler :

AH + worker first?
Grow on warrior, tech fishing and build workboat?
Mining -> BW -> fishing and chop out a boat? (Can mine the marble in the meantime.)

Attempt any early wonders?

EDIT: Is it possible to play this game with BUG 4.4? I really don't want to play without it :(

It's about time for me to move up to Immortal, Emperor games aren't really a challenge anymore.

Onto the game:
Non-Fishing Coastal starts suck, since they lead to slow openings for the human players and place you in danger of getting cramped. If we have no other food resources than what we have, though, we might have to get Fishing.

Attempt any early wonders?
I was actually thinking of attempting a rush if we're on a 4-person continent. If we're on the 3-person continent, no point since that puts us in semi-isolation. I mean, Kublai is the best HA-Rusher in the game, might as well try to make some use of it.

EDIT: Never mind...

Spoiler :
Stone AND Marble? Well, I guess I know what I'm doing...at least SSE --> Cuirs makes some use of Gers.

@mtr12:To play this game with whichever mod you want, go into Worldbuilder and save the game as a World Builder save. Unless you want to do some minor editing to be able to play on a different speed, all you have to do is select "play scenario" from single player and click on whichever save you saved it as. You will see all of the other civs, but this can be remedied by some quick WBS edits. Go to the strategy articles subforum, search "TMIT" and look for his map creation stuff, that'll tell you how to make the proper WBS saves. If you do, please share with us.

Mmm, the worst of the mongolian leaders.

Also, continents tends to really negate early rushes.

Its a random leader pick, was only going to re-roll if it picked a leader I'd already hosted :)
I'll actually try and get round to playing this game before the New Year.

Cheap barracks and libraries aren't so good? :( How is GK better than KK? KK grabs animal husbandry and writing fast, lightbulbs math, and chops out a big keshik rush so much better...

Mmm, seems this normalized start is also illegal. WTH is going on here, someone tampered around again?

Obsolete is always on grumpy mode, you should know it! :D

I played this game somewhat badly, and it didn't go well. I won though.

1931 space

Spoiler :

Settled in place. Cottaged cap, nothing else. Got about 17% world land settling early into the jungle with early IW. Pretty good start...but then tech rate sagged as I overexpanded into the south too soon. Nobody had gold to siphon so I teched SO SLOWLY.

Out of options, I just went "chobo space". Problem is justinian picked up culture rate more than expected, so I used espionage to revolt him every turn (I covered the EP on buildings alone easily).

Then I went FR to make mao (who capped his ENTIRE CONTINENT!) like me, only to have sury ask me to go OR and I refused. Why did I refuse? Because that C@#tbreeze opted to destroy FOUR SPACE PARTS, nearly costing me a launch before mao. I still narrowly beat out mao, but sury declared on me. Since he was an a$$nugget and destroyed parts I didn't have a lot for military. I did have a few tac nukes but he rolled me easily.

However, I'd launched by then. I moved the palace to a nice little tundra hell city in the south (seriously) and won the game with 3 cities left and the majority of the mongolian empire smoldering ash.

"Augustus caesar", 15100 score . Well, I *did* win . Maybe next time I won't misplay my early game so badly.

I COULD have gone military in the infantry era, but it was too much effort.

It's not that it's too hard, it's just that a significant mis-play threw me back and made it difficult to recover. My guess is that most will find this fairly easy. I was just spoiled by the easy trade availability on pangaea maps lately and didn't correctly adjust to play on continents. I could have held expansion a bit and not lost dozens of turns on that stupidity, which would have completely changed the game.

Little things matter.
