No way to tell what a resource is via map

In neither strategic nor normal view, if I hover the mouse over a resource there will be no pop up saying what a resource is. First time playing and quite annoying... There's something that looks like corn but is some sort of spice and I have no idea what it is.

Also no yields shown. This makes planning tile buys etc. very difficult and annoying.

If you hover over the tile for a second or so the yields and resource information should pop up. If it's not, are you running with other addons, or old versions of this one installed?

While setting the info popup down to 0 seconds delay allows you to see the tile yields and other info, I do miss the other yield/resource popup that was always visible just above the minimap. Having the larger info popup following my mouse around during wartime is a little distracting.

I'm not running any other mods. I disabled InfoAddict to make sure that it wasn't interfering with UP/VEM.

The mouse popup is small if you disable "basic tooltip help" under game options. There was some problem with modifying the lower-right tooltip. I don't remember the details... I think I worked on it about half a year ago.

I remember now: there were complications with the lower-right tip when hovering over unexplored tiles. It revealed some information it shouldn't. The lower and mouse tips work differently, and it would have required substantial code changes to fix the lower tip, so I focused on the mouse tip due to limited time.

Things like this usually end up boiling down to the time cost and effect. I estimate it would take 2-4 hours to improve the lower-right tip, and that information is available on the mouse tip, so those hours are probably better spent improving features with more impact. :)
