With the Republic Rangers taking advantage of old derelict railroads of the old world. They've managed to expand as south to Atlantic City and as far north to Bath, Maine. The information sent back by the Ranger gave Hanna some pause and thought for a moment. "So their original mission was to apprehend refugees who fled Palpatine's rule?" Hanna said with a worried tone in her voice. "Apparently they have a long history traveling across the galaxy. Eventually the original members dying out with new members taking their place". The Republic Ranger took his breath "Somehow or another, they felt no loyalty to the Empire and subsequently abandoned their original mission". Hanna Antilles leaned back in her chair and begins to contemplate "So if they abandoned their original mission, that would mean. Mariko, that illegitimate clone of my son, would consider the 501 to have gone 'native', just like us". Hanna then asks who is the leader of the 501, the Ranger simply responded with "Grand Moff Jiaan Terjerrod". "Grand Moff" Hanna said as she rubs her chin and with an inquisitive look in her eye "I suppose it would be equivalent to Generalissimo on this planet". The Ranger then responded "Yes, the 501 is set up as a military junta with the Grand Moff complete control of the nation". Hanna then stood up, walked to the window of her Chancellory overlooking the busy city of New Port City "We must be cautious in our diplomacy with them. We have not made formal contact. But if they truly don't feel the love of the Empire, then perhaps our relationship on this continent could foster".
Hanna then moves the topic forward, with another Republic Ranger that was from the expeditionary force to the north. The Ranger reported to Hanna about the Quebeckers. Hanna looked at the report, puzzled, and said to the Ranger "A dictatorship with a moderate socialist leanings with Sunni Muslims? I would have expected they'd be a democratic mixed economic Catholic nation". The Ranger offered his theory on how some of the minor NPCs had their demographics scrambled as the result of the Catyclism. "Well, irregardless of our differences. It's still essential to have them as our northern client state". Hanna said as she motions over the map of the Quebec region.
Hanna's adviser enters the room and inquires her about The Kingdom of Hawai'i. Hanna opens with her statement "They lie outside our realm, but it couldn't hurt to establish a friendly relationship with them". Hanna's top Grand Admiral (A six star rank in the Republic) Karl placed his reservations on a growing naval power in the Pacific. Hanna casually reminds the admiral "They may have huge ambitions to control the Central Pacific. They're no different than us who have an ambition to control the eastern portion of North America. Aside from being imperialistic". Hanna then continues on "So long as were both in friendly terms, there should be nothing to worry about".
Months later, Hanna received the news that the Union of Nations has been established. "So, they're planning another international organizational experiment?" Hanna said with a worried face. Hanna's adviser began to say "Yes, but somehow is less centralized then it's predecessor". Hanna, while looking at the application, soon signed the document and forwarded it to the Union of Nations. Hanna, soon appointed Hitomi to be the Republic's representative in the Union of Nations.
With the shipyards in operations. The Republic soon produced a massive
Ragnarok class super battleship. The first ship in her class, the
Ragnarok floated above it's drydock in the old Electric Boat shipyard on the banks of the Thames River. Her sister ship, the
Rorikstead just had her keel laid down on the drydock next to the
Ragnarok. Grand Admiral Karl is expected to be the flag officer aboard the
Ragnarok. The
Ragnarok and the
Rorikstead are the first of the Super Battleship series to serve the Republic with the launch of the
Rorikstead expected to happen in the next year due to budget constraints.
The Northeast Corridor line between Boston and New York City has been rebuilt and fully operational. The Jersey section of the corridor is currently under repairs as the Republic Rangers continue their expansion into the wilderness. Old derelict Pennsylvanian Railroad GG1s found in the old New Haven rail yard were refurbished and put into service of the Republic Railroad.
