The Coming Storm-2053

Prologue[Epilogue of SAR]
Before the Second Revolution, the Great Division, America was whole. Not only was it whole, but it was good. People were proud to live there. People were proud to have been born there. People were proud to have died there. People were proud... To have died for it.
That changed.
Progressively, corruption took hold of the once-good nation. The two Great Wars were waged. A war of ice came after. The Wars of Greed after that. And then, the Wars of Division. By that time, the great nation had crumbled. The direct remains were in a small bloc. But the Division wasn't the death of the country. It was the rebirth. Factions rose. Factions spread. Factions fought. Factions prevailed. The Red Coasts of the USSR and Maine were taken. The country was whole again.
More than Whole.
The country grew. It hadn't yet surpassed the one of old completely, but it was on the road to. The events were relieved to the world. America has risen again. From the ashes it had turned itself into.
Just as America changed, the world had changed. The UN had dissolved, split between the Western and communist blocs. The Ottomans and Italians were feuding for control of the Balkans. Iran and the new nation of Zion wage war often. Britain has reclaimed the Commonwealth. Germany has achieved cultural unity. Brazil's dominance in South America has grown with virtually the only thing stopping it being Gran Colombia.
That is the world we live in today. Ten full years after the reunification. I wonder what will become of it.

Joining
You join by either picking one of the preplaced nations or making your own five-province nation somewhere in the grayish-greenish provinces.

Income
Countries ten provinces or higher start with fifty Industry, which is hard income. All below ten provinces start with forty industry. Every 10 percent of your income put into industry increases industry by 5 percent, rounded up. Armies, navies, and air forces each cost 1 to maintain. After the first turn, trade is introduced. trade will be automatically installed across all powers not at war with each other. Trade=Average of all you are trading with divided by two.

The Unclaimed
The unclaimed grey-green provinces are essentially minor countries ranging in size. You can do three things with these.
-SOI them. This costs 3x, x being their size. You can count on their size being their modern borders today-granted parts of them haven’t already been annexed.
-Diplo-annex them. This costs the amount of provinces they have. You can only do this to a nation whom you SOI.
-Annex them. This is militarily invading them. However, one or two armies won’t cut it. You’ll be facing an entire people not wanting to give up independence. You would be facing at least ten armies, navies, and air wings. They can and will counter-invade if you fail your attack.

WMD
SDI advancement has progressed dramatically. This has made all WMD worthless. Until recently. Technology is theorized to be able to come up with a signal which prevents destruction of warheads. This has yet to be actually researched very much. At tech 10, you will have access to arm silos with that destruction-preventing signal. At tech 30, you will be able to produce another signal which completely jams detection of warheads, making stealth strikes reality.
Silos cost 25 income each.
Funding WMD project costs 200.
Building a WMD warhead costs 15.
WMD are completely player-personalized-within reason. By that, I mean you can range it from nukes to bioweapons to whatever it was Sone used on his huge PB strike against the demons in SOM3. Don't be rediculous with the creativity. Warheads will destroy 1 province; and will destroy x% of an economy, x being your tech level. The provinces affected will take 1x, x being the launcher's tech level, turns to clear of hazardous materials.

SDI
Until the technology for SDI-jammers is unlocked, all countries have and SDI of 95%. That means that any WMD could actually hit their mark, but it would be way less than worth it. SDI after the jammers are discovered lowers all the way to zero. The new SDI to counter it will cost 200 to research. However, the new SDI isn’t like the last run on percentages. It goes on a SDI:warheads launched ratio. If you want more explaining, ask.

Military and War
Armies cost 3. Air Wings cost 4. Navies cost 5. Each of their base strength is 1, and combat is decided by this set up. Navies can bombard coasts and carry 1 army or 1 Air Wing per navy. Air Wings can bombard anywhere within a certain range. Air Wings can land armies anywhere within a certain range. Armies cannot blitz until tech 5 and add a blitz every 10 techs after.
War must be declared in thread. At tech 5, stealth invasions are allowed. At tech 15, stealth invasions grant bonuses. At tech 25, your units can attack without showing their affiliation unless you choose to take a province should they win a battle.
Battles are decided using this system.

You can also engage in Proxy Wars. This means pitting your client(s) against the client(s) of another power. These are managed differently than actual wars. The number of armies and navies is completely dependent on funding you give your client(s). You are in direct control of the armies and navies of your client. Armies, Air Wings, and Navies of the Proxy wars both cost 1 and require no maintenance, but disappear once the war is over. Your normal armies, if you want to add them in the attack force, count as two proxy war armies, likewise for navies and air wings.

Projects
Projects are fundable... Well, projects. Put money towards a certain field (Military, industry, etc) and you have a chance to make a new technological discovery. RP about it and you not only get bonuses to the chance, but can steer the project to a certain direction (Turret-mounted gauss canon? +army strength. Carrier-mounted laser turret? +naval strength. Etc.) You can only fund one project at any given time.

Espionage
There will be no espionage units. Simply commit income into a purpose and get results. Chances of success are increased with tech. Missions:
-Fake Combat Orders: Decrease the strength of the enemy military by 1-5 strength depending on your tech level(1 at tech 1, 2 at tech 3, 3 at tech 5, etc.). Every 1 income increases chance of success by 2%
-Steal Treasury: Want extra pocket change? Steal. Base 75/25 success/failure. Gives 15-50 income, decided by RNG.
-Steal plans: Wanna know what a nation may be planning this turn or any previous turn? You can steal the information. Every 3 income increases chance of success by 2%.
-Sabotage Infrastructure: Destroy 5% of an economy. Every 5 income increases chance of success by 2%.
-Sabotage Research: Erase 20% of the income a country has put into research. Every 7 income increases chance of success by 2%.
-Sabotage Warhead: Disable or destroy, at a 50/50 chance, a WMD warhead. Each 9 income increases chance of success by 2%.
-Sabotage Project: Erase 50% of income put into a project. Each 10 income increases chance of success by 2%
-Sabotage Vault: Either destroy or set a Vault up to make a bad event at a 50/50 chance. Each 12 income increases chance of success by 2%.
-Sabotage SDI: Disable 40% of an SDI for a turn. Each 15 income increases chance of success by 2%.

Tech
Tech costs 100x, x being the level. Tech increases unit strength and WMD effectiveness. It also gives the result of projects higher bonuses. Everyone starts at tech 1.

The VAULT Project
Vaults are city-sized underground bunkers. They are used to protect populations from the threat WMDs pose. After a WMD's effects have worn off and the province resettled(at the cost of 5 income), you may reopen the vault getting some sort of bonus from it. The longer the vault is closed however, the better the bonus. There is a 5% chance however that a disaster will occur inside the vault. Open at your own risk. Keeping the Vault closed all the way up to endgame will grant you bonuses in the next IOT. Vaults cost 100 each, and you can have as many as you want in each province. But that wouldn't be smart seeing as if you were invaded, the invading power could open it themselves.

Endgame
This game will only have two ways to end.
World domination: Under a single country, the world has either been annexed or subjugated(made into client states).
World Destruction: After the global WMD stockpile gets big enough, every WMD set off has a progressive chance to cause global catastrophe.

Well eight major NPCs-especially those in either the communist or capitalist blocs- can't be diplomatically isolated. And I felt like talking in character.

Bah fine, but what about my mythril?

Projectseth!

I promise I'll give you a head start on it for the work you did and hardly profited on last time.

10% chance discovery bonus off the bat? After you invest, that is.

There is only one way I can concievably respond to that, and it is this:
