I love this mod (it is my new obsession )!

Only encountered one problem, and I couldn't find a bugs thread, so I decided to just plop it here:

I have played as almost every leader in the list since downloading this, and have not encountered any problems. I recently decided that I would "master" my strategy for Alexander. When I put Alexander in on a large map with sparse resources, there was a CTD. I had done nothing significant on the previous turn, and figured that I had done nothing to trigger it. So I began a second game, with the same settings, and the CTD occurred again, in the same place. I figured "well, third time's a charm" (I'm tired, see, and logic was not in my favor), and the same exact thing happened. :(

Three things I noticed were exactly the same for each game: a) I was Greece, b) I was researching Masonry, and c) I was building a worker. This offers a large variety of options of things that could be wrong.

One thing that it is very unlikely to be is game speeds, considering that one the first two games I played on Standard, and for the third game switched to Quick.

Also, I for all three games, I was playing on a large map with sparse resources.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: All three CTD's occurred between turns 10 and 20.

2ND EDIT: The only other mod enabled was InfoAddict, and I was playing with Random Seed and Quick Combat, although there were no battles or barbarian at the time of the CTD's.

3RD EDIT: Just played another game as Rome with the same settings on Standard speed, same map type/options, so it is not a Civ-specific bug.

Thank you for reporting this. If it happens again, could you attach a zip file containing:

  • Auto-save from just before the crash
  • /mods folder
I think you can set the ingame options to autosave once every 2 turns, which should be enough.

(I wouldn't recommend every 1 turn because autosaves are the primary cause of long end-turn delays.)

Also, it should probably be noted that I was trying to play an edited version of Firaxis's Mediterranean that I had made myself. That may be the cause, I will try to just play a normal game.

So it just happened again.

I am not sure what you meant by the /mods folder, so I just put in v136 of your mod (that's what I was using), InfoAddict, and the save game. I believe it saved 1-2 turns before the CtD. But since I just got the mod update notification from the ModBrowser, I will try it again and see if it is fixed. I also just deleted the cache contents, although I should have done that first.

Hopefully it's fixed, if not, now you have something to work with. :goodjob:

Same problem, even with v137.

I played a game on the same map, same settings, without CiVUP/VEM, with no problem at all, and playing with InfoAddict and WWGD, so it must be either a mod conflict, a settings conflict, or another problem that I haven't thought of.

WWGD is part of VEM. Were you playing with it as a separate mod in addition to VEM in your bugged games? If so, that could be your problem: the old, stand-alone WWGD is outdated.

The mods folder is located here. It's where the mods are installed:

C:\users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS

Seeing the mods folder can sometimes identify if there's a mod conflict going on, such as the one txurce mentioned.

No, I only enabled WWGD when I disabled CiVUP/VEM.

It wouldn't let me upload my MODS folder, required a token or sumthin. So here is the list of MODS in the folder:

-Build Cities Within 2 Tiles
-Extra Diplomacy Text
-Info Addict
-Italy the Renaissance Years
-RED WWII Data Files (v 3)
-RED WWII Edition (v 23)
-Scenarios Game Speed
-Unofficial Patch and Vanilla Enhanced (v 137)
-WWGD AI Rebalance (v 6)
-Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack (v 9)
-Yneamp City States (v 5)
-Yneamp City States Extended (v 3)
-Yneamp City States Madeira (v 3)
-Yneamp Leaders for City States (v 3)

Have you tried everything on the common checklist? In particular, see if the game works if you only have vem, infoaddict, and civwillard installed. I haven't seen crashes when using those three mods.
