Custom Sounds for Asian-themed scenarios

Here are some custom sounds that I have created for Asian-themed scenarios. I had the idea when playing the Sengoku campaign, that's why I kept the name in the Database. They use the Civ3 format for system sounds (44.1kHz, 16 bit, mono) and have been game-tested. If you want to use them, all you need to do is extract the compressed file and copy/paste the "Sounds" folder into your scenario folder. If you already use custom sounds, backup your files.
The rar also includes a short melody I have created, "Landscape of Fall". Just add the line "Landscape of Fall.mp3" to your Music.txt file and it will be played during the game.

The pack is not complete, but I have already replaced the most common sounds heard in game. I have a little lack of inspiration for the rest of them... but they will be added soon! They are mostly melodic tones and will sound better if you play with the music turned off. But hopefully many of them are percussive sounds that will sound good anyway.

I forgot to say that if you don't like one of them and are not sure you want to keep it, you can just rename it to something.bak (or delete it) and the game will automatically play the original sound instead.
For the "We love the King" sound, I thought instead of applauding they would play some percussive music. This is an idea I would keep for any other sound pack I would create in the future.

From the image & posts seems like these have a Japanese feel. Do you know of any free virtual instruments with a gamelan style of sound?

You do realize that's a Chinese, instrument, do you?

Fits perfectly for "Tempest of the Dragon" nonetheless. Has a Wuxia feel to it.

I apologize. I do know there's quite difference in musical styles between the countries. Beyond a koto I don't know the names of any East Asian instruments.

@Blue Monkey: I don't know of any free vst sounding like a gamelan but Asian DreamZ has some percussive sounds that might fit (I've used them in this soundbank, in the "Weloveourking" sound for example).
EDIT: nothing that sounds like a gamelan in this one. I'll be searching the web for this kind of instrument, it would be interesting to try to get these kinds of sounds.

@Ogedei: Yes, a Luan is a chinese instrument, and all the other instruments featured in Asian Dreamz are too. I also used some middle-eastern instruments like a Nay. All in all, it sounds Asian to European ears I'm sure they would sound nice in your Mod too!
