NIGHT ZERO

The Poisoned Sailor, despite the unfortunate name, is a very good bar. It was the winner of the prestigious Blahristani-award-of-wonderfu-barmanship-that-is-very-prestigious-and-rather-excellent from 2008-2012. Despite the fact that it is such a good bar, it is rarely frequented. There are many factors contributing to this fact, the fact that it is very remote, or that it is situated in a town with negative tourism appeal. However, the main reason that is rarely frequented is because it is one of the only bars in Blahristan that have not kowtowed to the Blahristani Mafia, a dangerous organization. Most customers stay away, feeling afraid that they would get caught in a rather nasty situation.

But today, on the 5th anniversary of the bar’s opening, it was really busy. This pleased bartender and owner NinjaCow64 to no end. There were 20 paying customers staying the night and buying lots of beverages. He turned to the crowd and shouted his trademark phrase at the top of his lungs.

“Pick yer poison, mate!” But little did he know, this would be the last night that he would shout that phrase. For three people in this bar were plotting against him and they had plans for all the customers…

Basic Rules:

1) Adhere to the forum rules and yada yada.
2) Note that this game is very silly.
3) Day ends in 48 hours OR if everyone votes AND more than 50% of the town agrees on who to vote for. Night ends in 24 hours.
4) During the day, you must vote for who you think is guilty. Votes must be bolded. Example: "I think that NinjaCow64 is guilty even though he is dead and he is me therefore I am dead. Erk."
5) When you want to change your mind on who to vote, just post unvote (bolded of course), comma then the new person you want to lynch. Example: "I don't feel like killing myself again so I am going to unvote, Chuck Norris.
6) You are allowed to Abstain.
7) No Lynch is not allowed and the first day will produce a lynch like every other day.
8) YOU MUST VOTE EVERY DAY EVEN IF YOU ARE MAFIA. ABSTAINING COUNTS AS VOTING. IF YOU DO NOT VOTE FOR TWO DAYS IN A ROW THEN YOU WILL FACE THE WRAITH OF CHUCK NORRIS.
9) During the night, the Mafia will PM me their target and will also use any other abilities that they have. Townies may send me a PM if they have abilities also.
10) You may talk at night.
11) Alignment is revealed upon death.
12) If you are dead, you may not post in the thread anymore. Just don't.
13) RULE THIRTEEN! SPOOKY!!!
14) …as you can see, NinjaCow64 is just trying to increase the amount of rules to fifteen to have a nice number by posting fluff. Rules 8 and 12 are extra super important so don't break them.
15) And don’t forget to brush your teeth!

Also, read the below rules to understand what we are doing in this setup if you have not played a PYP before. If you have, please read it anyway because I changed some of the rules slightly. :)

Spoiler rules :
When you post to join the game, PM me two numbers like this: (X,Y) with each being one of the numbers 1-10.

Do not post your numbers in the thread. PM them to me.


The X number closest to 1 that no one else picks gets to go first in the role draft. The Y number is for tiebreakers.

Example draft:

Player 1: 4,5
Player 2: 1,4
Player 3: 3,5
Player 4: 1,3
Player 5: 1,4
Player 6: 5,4
Player 7: 5,5

The draft order would be:
Player 3
Player 1
Player 6
Player 7
Player 4
Players 2/5 based on random (because their Y numbers are the same).

The reason that order is the way it is (and this is how this one works as well) is that the numbers that are picked only once (X) go first, then the ones that are doubled (X), THEN the ones that are tripled (X).

Once the order is done, the draft order will be posted in the thread and you will then attempt to pick a power role. PM me the role that you want (roles can be chosen from the list below). If someone above you in the draft order has picked that role you will be vanilla. YOU MUST NOT COORDINATE WITH EACH OTHER ABOUT YOUR PICKS DURING THIS STAGE (e.g. you can't PM the players in front of you and say 'hey, I'm picking cop, so none of you pick that'). In particular, the mafia will not be allowed to coordinate (they will not know each other until after they choose). The mafia can both kill and use their drafted power.

The roles:
Cop (Whisky)
Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will get a result of town or mafia.
Doctor (Club Soda)
Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will prevent any and all kill attempts on that player. You may NOT target yourself.
Bulletproof (Vodka)
You are bulletproof. You are immune to night kills.
Bodyguard (Scotch)
Each night you may target a player. If successful, any and all kill attempts will be redirected to you.
NOTE: If a Bodyguard protects a Doctor and the Doctor protects the Bodyguard, the Bodyguard will be safe from attacks unless the Doctor is attacked, in which case it will die.
Roleblocker (Rum)
Each night you may target a player. If successful, that target will not be able to use any night abilities.
Tracker (Irish Coffee)
Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will see all players that player targeted that night.
Jailkeeper (Lemonade)
Each night you may target a player. If successful, that target will not be able to use any night abilities.
NOTE: The roleblocker's roleblock will be given priority over the Jailkeeper's. So that means that if a Roleblocker and a Jailkeeper both target each other then the Roleblocker will not be protected by the Jailkeeper's protection, and the Jailkeeper will be notified that it has been blocked.
One-Shot Governor (Champagne)
Once during the game, during the day, you may PM me to stop a lynch.
Vengeful Lynchee (Cocktail)
If you are lynched you may, at any time during the next two phases (i.e. the next night and day), post "Kill: X" (where X was on the wagon that lynched you). That person will then die at the beginning of the next phase.
Rolecop (1984 Chardonnay)
Each night you may target a player. If successful, you will see what role they have but not their alignment.
Bus Driver (Ale)
Switch two players for the night (If X and Y are switched, and X is targeted by mafia, Y dies instead. Works for any ability, not just kills)
Doublevoter (XXXX Larger)
Your vote counts as two in the lynch.
Tiebreaker (XXX Larger)
Your vote can break ties in the lynch.

Vanilla players just drink the standard Beer

The mafia get one kill, in addition to their powers.
