People are livid warning but happiness is at +41

About halfway through my first G&K game, the advisor started informing me that my population was unhappy or livid even though the Happiness meter gives a positive score (and had not gone negative all game)

It doesn't seem to be having an effect on growth or production.

Sorry if this should be in a bug forum but I didn't see one. Every few turns I get the advisor telling me that my people are very unhappy. But they aren't. My happiness is currently at +34. Is this a known bug? Thanks.

This happens to me all the time as well. I haven't deduced a pattern yet, but I definitely am around 30+ or so happiness when it happens. I suspect a lot of people aren't seeing it because they've probably turned that adviser "off".

I've had it.
My vague guess was that the adviser wasn't considering happiness due to religious effects. So if I have +30 happy from various stuff, +10 happy from religion, and 35 total unhappiness, the adviser might think my empire was unhappy. But that is wild speculation.

This has happened to me multiple times in my current game- happiness is +20 to +30 each time. Dido is ready to fire this advisor.

Yeah, I know you can turn them off, but I keep getting one that is strange to me.

Every several turns or so the lady comes up and tells me that my population is "livid." This is happening when I'm in the green for smiley faces. So I'm guessing either the advisor isn't calculating happingess correctly for knowing when to display that message, or I'm getting some bad unhappiness effect that I can't see, or I don't understand the rules of Global vs. Local happiness and some of my cities are mad even though I have a net positive.

Has anybody else seen this?

happens to me as well. i will have net +happiness but advisor will tell me my population is getting angry, you should build happiness buildings blah blah. i just ignore it, think its a glitch.

I think that's just the first in a stack of messages. You were probably unhappy before but never dismissed that particular message. I kind of recall a way to page through the rest of the messages. Been a long time since I've used them though, I turned them off pretty quick.

This is along a similar vein but I've had it in two games now where I save the game with some number of positive happiness and when I load it to continue my happiness is tanked at some large negative number. I'm using the Steam cloud save BTW. Similar to this post.

Until this is fixed I can't trust my save games and will just leave Gs&Ks running all the time I guess. :crazyeye:

Look and see if you have any recently conquored cities that have not yet completed the courthouse. Just got done with a war with a neighbor (pity the fool) and well he lost 3 cities before finally sueing for peace.

Going to test this out to see if it happens after I purcase the court houses in those 2 cities, log out and back in to see if it happens again.
