As of July 31st 2012 THIS GAME IS DEAD.
"Well Gentlemen, we begin tommorrow. For too long now has the empire ruled over this land, and tommorrow we will finally end it. We are not the first to take this step, and you all know that the Imperials are fighting across the world against people such as us. Fighting, and losing. It is past time that we join the fight, lest we find our liberators as bad as our oppressors. I will not say the coming days will be easy, or that they will be bloodless, or any other such self-deception. Victory will take our all. And so that is what we will give it. I know I can count on every man and women to do what we must. I hope to see you here again in a few days, but for now lets get moving."
-Nikolai Cavlandros; the night before the Gibralter Uprisings
Welcome all, to my latest AC. Here you get to be freedom fighters against the tyranical empire which has ruled the world effectively unopposed for the last few hundred years. But don't worry, you arent the only ones! There's a whole bunch of different rebellions going on since the emperorwas assassinated died tragically a few years back, so you wont suffer the fate of poor Bermuda Island in a hurry. (Protip: fighting the entire world alone is a bad move)
Now that I think about it, I should probably mention that this is set in a Soft-Sci-Fi Alternate Future, and that you sart in Gibralter. And yes, the place names are the same. Why? Why Not!
Basic Rules:
[Generic anti-troll rules with loopholes in them]
As GM, I reserve the right to do anything in the game, up to and including kick players out for breathing at the wrong time. So to be safe, try not breathing at all.
This is an Action Chatroom Game. Most of you whole will join probably know what that is, but for those who don't I will explain now. You will create a character, using the Character creation stuff below. You will then come on the Chatroom at certain times and play as that character in missions, in which you are, usually, given an objective and let loose to acomplish it. Other times I will fail to tell you what your goal, situation, ect are, and just chuck you in at the deep end and hope you either swim, or at least drown in an amusing way.
Character Creation:
Pretty much the standerd spiel; name and gender are the only real neccessities, but backstory, description and all that are apprieciated. You dont have to worry about traits/perks/abilities or anything, just spend your starting money on any of the good good good stuff in the upcoming lists! Dont worry about a language barrier this time either, that got standerdised centuries ago.
You start with 300$100$.
Equipment:
Headgear: You put it on your head. Needless to say you can only have one. But feel free to have none if you subscribe to certain philosophies.
Armour: You wear one set of this. It protects you. Probably. Hopefully. Possibly.
Primary Weapons: Now we get to the really fun stuff! Most of the time you can have 2 of these, except for a couple of the big 'uns.
Secondary Weapons: A sidearm is always handy. Particularly if you're too cheap to get anything bigger. You only get one though, no guns akimbo for you!
Grenades: EXPLOSIONS!
You can only have 1 type of grenade at a time, and whilst buying them gets you an unlimited stock, you can only have 4 on any one mission.
Miscellanious: For when you need to do something other than kill people. You can have an unlimited number of these items in your pack.
You get a knife too. So feel free to go without any guns at all, you'll still have a 'weapon'...
(Originally I was gonna link to tropes all through those lists, but I gave up on that plan after finding 35 different links I could use. Shame I didn't give up a few hours earlier though.
)
And now for Levels! Thats right, this game has a level system! But rather than traditional things such as extra HP, leveling up in this game TURNS YOU INTO A ROBOT!!!
Okay, not really, but adding tech to your body is pretty much the advantage of half these levels. I know nobody is ever gonna reach level 10 before the game dies tragically, but if by some miracle we make it that far more levels will be added.
The Chatroom is Here.
Rule Addendum: Equipment can be sold for half it's base price, but this doesnt include the price of add-ons.
Warning: Team-Killing will lead to XP penalties. Repeated team-killing will lead to XP and monetary Penalties.
Addendum: Killing Allied NPCs counts as team-killing for this purpose.
[Anything I missed will be added here when I remember it.]
