Right then.
This is a test of a larger (well, it'll still be a small game) game (called "Kill the King") that I plan to host in a while. Note that this is a MUCH MUCH stripped down version of that game, with most of the intrigue, story, and other features removed and just the core killing mechanic in place. (The final game will be a heavily story-driven mafia with loads of intrigue and personal goals, this test is not that) This is mainly a test to see if I can in fact mod a mafia game, and see how well the game concepts work.
Note: I have become aware there is a mafia variant called Assassin in the Palace (or something like that); this is not the same as that, despite what it may seem.
Rules
-There's a king, whose identity is known to everyone, and is guaranteed to not be scum. (Yes, at this point it sounds too easy for the mafia. Keep reading)
-There are 2 assassins, who are the "mafia" or "scum" of this game. Their goal is to get to the king, and kill him. Every night, one of the assassins chooses a target to kill.
-However, among the "town" there are 2 "guards" whose identities are hidden, even after death (unless one of the guards reveals himself). If the mafia stands a chance of killing the king, both guards must be killed off first. If one or more of the guards is still alive and the mafia attempts to kill the King, that assassin will fail and get killed.
-Everyone else is a vanilla townie. Remember, this is a test game, I'm not really concerned with quality.
-Other than that, this is your standard mafia game in the way of voting, with a 48 hour day phase and 24 hour night phase. If you really don't know how to play mafia, and are still interested, see the stickied information thread or something.
-Abstain and No Lynch votes during the day are allowed. Please vote in Vote: JoanK format, and switch votes in Unvote; Vote: JoanK format.
-For a lynch to succeed, a majority of all votes cast (Abstains and no-shows do not count for this, although No Lynches do) must be cast for the lynchee. So if 7 votes are cast, and 3 are for Player X, then Player X does not get lynched, but if 4 votes are for Player X, then Player X does get lynched.
-Nightposting is allowed, just don't get too spammy.
-Deadposting is not allowed.
-Private communication, including QTs, are allowed.
-Any questions, just ask. I might make this post longer eventually.
