First off, this is not directed to anyone, and is for informational basis only.

When contemplating to make a new NES, please look at this before:

1.) Have you played in enough nes's to get the jist of how one operates?

2.) Do you have a large enough fan base that would want to join your nes?

3.) Do you know how to make, upload, and edit maps to an extent where they are readable and look nice?

4.) Have you looked at the past nes's, not just on this page, but on pages before?

5.) Have you asked for help from either Uknemesis, me, EQandcivfanatic, or sheep2 in weather or not this is a good time to start one up? (this is NOT for permission, but for an opinion from veteran mods in deciding if the time is right to launch another nes)

6.) Do you have any unique ideas?

This is just so our forum might not get crowded with so many infants.

Jason

I agree with what you have to ay. A a general rule of thumb, don't start any NESes until you have played for a month.

Hey first of all I still don;t rank myself with the others mentioned, but I thank Jason for considering me.

Second of all A good idea is to always be creative. Join a few neses befoire you mod one. Get an idea about it, but also have plenty of ideas. Just cause we do things one way doesn;t mean you have to. Don;t be afraid to do something a little out there.

It goes without saying that you have to create something that you are going to have fun modding. Players here at CFC want continual moderation. If you don;t think you can handle this make the one at Apolyton. But beware, they can only sustaion about 3 neses there at a time so be prepared to wait.

If anyone wants to talk to me or get into contact with the others

AIM me on sheepmaddrell
or MSN at liammaddrell@hotmail.com

Oh and lastly make your updates often but make sure they are not too often. Allow a day or two between updates. Some people may find this tedious at best but at least you allow diplomacy and a story to develop. They don't call these things neverending stories for nothing.

Sorry puglover but this is kinda aimed at you also, although one nes that goes quickly doesn;t hurt :P

I have been thinking about creating my own NES that starts in World War I. But beforee I create my own NES I should go through the check list.
1.) Have you played in enough nes's to get the jist of how one operates?
Yes

2.) Do you have a large enough fan base that would want to join your nes?
Hmm, not sure on that one

3.) Do you know how to make, upload, and edit maps to an extent where they are readable and look nice?
Yes and Yes :)

4.) Have you looked at the past nes's, not just on this page, but on pages before?
Yes, I have journied into the depths of the 2nd page

5.) Have you asked for help from either Uknemesis, me, EQandcivfanatic, or sheep2 in weather or not this is a good time to start one up? (this is NOT for permission, but for an opinion from veteran mods in deciding if the time is right to launch another nes)
Err, I have asked Naervod for some

6.) Do you have any unique ideas?
Yes

Plus I would not condider myself as a newbie since I have been playing the NES for about a month now :).

Now that you've brought up these great points could you PLEASE tell me how you upload those big maps (that's the only point I missed)

Ok, first you go to Upload Files at the bottom of this page, to the right. Then you browse to find your map on your harddrive. upload it. Now go to where you want to put it and type {img}www.civfanatics.net/uploads3/YOUR FILE.gif/jpg{img}. Make sure you spell your file's name AND extension right, with capitals. And replace the {} with []. I couldn't use the real ones cus it would think im trying to post a picture :).
Hope this helps.

Oh and a newbie is one that has only been in a few nes's. You must broaden your horizons, Civgeneral, or you wont get enough info for your nes :). Also, try some stories or diplomacy once in a while :).

Jason

I have a new breed of NESes coming out called tactical NESes. If you want to get experience with both story and board game NESes, I suggest you look at my first one coming later today.

Nope!

Yeah. Learned my lesson there!

Yup... I agree with emu

I liked Jason's Colonization NES, also because I was actually on a very good position there, owning half of South America and 2/3 of Africa (plus some minor possesions in Asia I was aiming to):D :D :D

Hey can NES makers take it easy, I think 5 NESes have benn beagn TODAY.

Yeah if anyone wants my opinion lay off for a week or so, to allow the duds to die off

That is fine with me. I was going to start up TacNANES today, but I found the rules need major changes. Expect it on Saturday. However, if anyone wants to contact me about signups now, feel free.
