Welcome, player, to The Survivors, a RTD with some aspects of an AC. This game is started. However, I may accept more players.​

Rolls will be resolved in the following format (borrowed from Ludicrous Edition) :
Your result will be determined by the roll of a die.
Any action that triggers a third-party attack on the player immediately grants a free defence roll.

'Ludicrous Edition' increases the variability of results with a 20-sided die (actually random.org) that in addition to establishing the immediate success of an action, also determines random items found, health/power/money gained/lost, etc. The basic breakdown is as follows:

1 : Unbelievably total failure. Action WILL backfire.
2-4 : Failure, with penalty
5-7 : Marginal failure with possible penalty
8-10 : Failure, no penalty
11-13 : Straightforward success
14-16 : Success, with possible bonus
17-19 : Success, with circumstantial bonus
20 : MAXIMUM POWER. Guaranteed success, with added bonus.

Under binary conditions, 1-10 fails, 11-20 succeeds.

Note that attempting an action requiring an intermediate action (i.e. starting a car with no keys) automatically fails. Also note that the same action cannot be taken twice in a row. Take heed that your GM is unstable, and may tweak the playing field independent of player actions.

Each player may submit one action per phase.

To achieve victory, your mission is simple.
1) Escape the city. The zombies have blocked off every road, but there are still ways out.
OR
2) Cure Zombiism. This will take more time, but the efforts will be more rewarding.

Note that each player has a personal victory and some players will be hostile to the others...

Every player has a score. The goal is to have the highest score at the end of the game. Here's some ways to earn points:
  • Find any item. (1 point)
  • Find point increasing items. (5-15 points)
  • Every skill point is one point. (1 point)
  • Earn an achievement. (10-25 points)
  • Achieve your personal goal. (50 points)
  • Win the game. (50 or 100 points)
A list of achievements follows:
  • Helmet Master - Collect every helmet. (25 points)
  • Armor Master - Collect every armor set. (25 points)
  • Weapon Master - Collect every weapon. (25 points)
  • Gear Master - Collect every secondary gear. (25 points)
  • Pack Master - Collect every tertiary gear. (10 points)
  • Survivalist Leader - Become the leader at least once. (10 points)
  • Top Skill - Level up one skill to 25 points. (15 points)
  • Master of Skill - Level up another skill to 25 points. (15 points)

This game is divided into two phases, Day and Night. The game will start on Day. Sometimes the following rules will be adjusted for a phase, but this is the normal operation.

Day:
During the Day every player may post their orders here or PM them to me. You may exchange items you have equipped for ones in your inventory and ONE of the following:
(A) Search a location.
(B) Repair (if any) broken defenses.
(C) Research Technology
(D) Use (if any) your day ability.

Night:
During the night every player may post their orders here or PM them to me. You may do ONE of the following:
(A) Rest
(B) Defend the fort
(C) Use (if any) your night ability.

Each tech takes a certain skill point level, and the more you have of that skill, the faster it is researched. Two people researching the same tech will combine their efforts. When one person researches a tech, everyone receives the benefits.

Basic behaivor/gameplay rules:

  • Adhere to the forum rules.
  • Day and Night are 24 hours.
  • During the Day Phase, post or PM your orders.
  • If you wish to change your orders, simply post again.
  • The day's results will be posted and the game phase will change to Night.
  • During the night phase, post or PM me your night orders.
  • If you are dead, you are no longer able to claim anything you did while alive that isn't present in the thread. Unless I resurrect you as a zombie... :mischief:
  • Private communication is allowed.
  • Do not quote any message the host (or anyone else) may send you; you must use your own words. This means you can never quote your role PM and copy it here in this thread, or reveal it privately.
  • 3 phases of Inactivity will result in replacement or death.
  • Alignment isn't revealed upon death, although Doctors may examine the body.
  • No spamming, PLEASE!

Yes, only trouble with spoilers, read receiots and edit/quote buttons.
 
A few rule changes:
The health regen'd by resting at night now depends on your roll (and medical skill.)
20 new items added.

I have the abilities written out for 5 occupations. I just need to finish the other 5 and I'll be almost done.
