First Civ4 S&T Election - Campaigning

This is the candidacy thread for the first official government of the United Stories and Tales of Civ4.

The Union was created with the signing and posting of:


The election format was decided upon by the Independence Council, which ratified this Declaration.

It is:

The number active stories on the date of elections (updated 7-3 days ago) will equal one representative seat. 3 days before the start of elections, campaigning for seats will start. All nominees will be included in a poll, where people will be allowed to vote a certain number of times (seeing who voted will be enabled, to ensure no vote fraud). Elections for the seats will take three days.

At the end of those three days, we have our Council! The Council then convenes and, within 3 days, elects a Chairman.

Other than this, we have a clean slate for our government.

Parties

The Pragmatic Moderate Party will deal with issues in the most realistic and straightforward manner possible, so as to create a moderate yet strong government. It will strive to maintain the centrist and moderate position of the government, always staying in between the two extremes.

The Centrist Party believes that the USTC4 does not require much autonomy from the CFC Congress, and that our sub-forum should maintain its links with the old government, for a level of autonomy similar to a British Dominion. We also support campaigns to not only attract new S&Ters, but to get older ones to stay as well.

The Lazy Party, the party for people who are too lazy to do anything, including running for office.

The S&T Technocratic Party seeks to create a system in which people will find a solution to any problem in a scientific manner and concern would be given to sustainability within the resource base.

The Progressionist Party is an adaptive party, and we respond to problems was such. We are a primarily pacifist party, and resorting to violence is virtually prohibited. Because of our adaptiveness, we will side with the most reasonable solution, not relying on our own beliefs to fuel us on.

I, Tambien, declare my candidacy for the position of Councilman on the United Stories and Tales of Civ4 Council.

I also declare the formation of the Moderate Independence Party. Under my vision, it is dedicated to guarding fiercly the independence of Civ4 S&T, while also maintaining the centrist alignment of the government. Compromise, compromise, compromise.

I declare the formation of the National Pragmatic Party, where we will deal with issues in the most realistic and straightforward manner possible, so as to create a moderate yet strong government able to fulfill the needs of Civ4 S&T while stimulating growth.

If you declared independence from CFC, why are you still here?

I know you all love your forum, but does a sub forum about posting stories about a Civ game REALLY need a government?

Think of it as a new front for the Epic Wars.

I call for a bill of rights to secure the rights of all citizens of the United Stories and Tales of Civ4.

The Centrist Party will support a Bill of Rights.

I call upon my fellow authors to do everything we can to save as many stories as we can. We here might currently be safe, but it will not last. The Congress will react. We must be prepared to ensure our survival!

I believe the National Pragmatic Party and the S&T Technocratic Party could have a great and wonderful future if we combine our political clout. After all, we're not so different, you and I.

The USTC4 offers the Communist Party a presence in the nation. Perhaps it could work for a sort of Socialist Union of CFC Subforums?

Yes. As METY said, think of it as a new front in the Epic Wars. Or a Realpolitik without the game, and without the guarantee of democracy.
