Adds 37 new City-States to the game
These are the City-States:

Of course! The good thing about this mod is that it doesn't change core gameplay, meaning I can add any city-state (within reason of course), and it would be pretty hard to find a reason to be angry!

I think my mod was mysteriously removed from the workshop, can anybody else confirm this? If so, maybe we will see a City-State addition dlc.

Added 13 new City-States. See OP for details.
 
Being from both Australia and Canada I think a couple of these are out of place.

I suggest Melbourne as well as a Cultural city, in place of Adelaide which can move to Maritime, and add Brisbane to Maritime. That makes the Australia list as follows:

Maritime: Sydney (existing), Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane
Cultural: Melbourne (really wouldn't mind if Sydney was made Cultural)

On the Canada side I suggest Toronto and Vancouver be made cultural city states. If you're looking to keep numbers roughly even I suggest Halifax and St. John's as Maritime, both Canadian east coast cities. So the Canada layout:

Maritime: Quebec (existing), St John's, Halifax
Cultural: Toronto, Vancouver (again wouldn't mind if Quebec moved here)

Meh just some thoughts. Now that I think about it, some of those could be Mercantile, too.
 
Nice job! You may want to check the popular "not another city states" mod (NACSM), which is more or less defunct now I believe, for more inspiration. I also added a bunch in my own mods you may consider. I have the XML for them of course, so should you add some I can send it and save you the grind ;) They are:

Religious:
- Amritsar (Sikh)
- Ifè (Yoruban)

Cultural:
- Pagan / Bagan (can't believe this is not in the game!)
- Tbilisi
- Angkor
- Sri Lanka (Polynesians have island names... who recognizes "Anuradhapura"?)
- Kuhikugu

Mercantile:
- Quito (Caras)
- Bacatá / Bogotá (Muisca)
- Punt
- Great Zimbabwe
- Riga

Militaristic:
- Cairo (see my comment on "Pagan")
- Assur
- Hattusa
- Vilnius
- Oyo
- Veii (Etruscan)

Some that are in another civ's city list, but really deserve a place:
- Aoudaghost (Ghana) [Songhai]
- Samarkand (Sogdian / Timurid) [Mongolian]


EDIT: Because I'm procrastinating, I took a good look at the present CSs, so here are some remarks:
- Why Faisalabad? I know Lahore and Karachi are in the Indian city list; this picks seems to be just "the next largest city". I'd take Islamabad or remove Karachi from the Indian city list; it's the last entry anyway.
- Cultured might be better for Guadalajara.
- I don't see Haifa as religious. Besides, 3 (currently) Israeli/Palestinian religious CSs is overkill.
- I fail the get impressed when reading about Maputo. I think there are better picks on the African east coast.

Anyway, some small disagreements to an otherwise good list :)
 
How about adding Königsberg as a militaristic city-state? It's not in german city-list for some reason, nor in russian. I think Teutonic Order and Prussia are too important to be overlooked.
 
I have created a mod that adds ten new CS based on famous video game cities and nations, to the game. The CS appear when I load the mod, but the names are messed up. For example, instead of Goldenrod City, the CS shows up as TXT_KEY_CITYSTATE_GOLDENROD_CITY. All ten CS names are like that, but otherwise the mod works. How do I fix this annoying problem?
 
Did you make the text rows? Something such as
<Row Tag="TXT_KEY_GOLDENROD_CITY">
<Text>Goldenrod City</Text>
</Row>
