High council not showing at all

Hi there
Thank you for all that has been done here guys.

I have win 7 home edition, and i am running Civ2 multiplayer.

I do not have access to my high council at all.

I get the message that the high council wants a réunion but when I click yes nothing at all shows up.

I did install the codec 4.2 to no avail.

Can someone help please

You need the CD in the drive in order to get the High Council. If you bought the game as a download, you might not be able to view it.

Here is what i did. I did purchased an officicial copy of Civ2 on Ebay.
Not the multiplayer one. But it will not install on my 'windows home edition'.
so I downloaded a copy of the multiplayer.
Now what do i do to get this high council going????

The only thing I can suggest is to try inserting the CD you have into the computer when you play the downloaded version.

If that fails, take heart in the fact that most of the high council's advice isn't very good anyway.

That is a very polite statement. In fact, they do not help your game in any way! If you want to improve your game, take your time and and read about civ2-strategy in these forums (I still do that when I'm bored at work ).
However, the council is quite funny, so if you want to know what they might have to say, you can find that on youtube.
