Serious Graphics Glitch

Civ V has run fine on my computer since I downloaded it (the week it came out:p), on more-or-less the lowest resolution settings.

But I just started up a game today, and big lines started showing up on my screen as soon as the game loaded (it ran fine in the menus, but as soon as the game itself loaded, these lines showed up).

I exited the save file and loaded a new file. Same problems. So I exited to Windows and then went back to Civ V, this time loading a scenario for variety. Same problems. So, in frustration, I deleted Civ V entirely from my hard drive, then redownloaded it. Same problems. Clearly, something is wrong. I know my computer can handle Civ V, because it has for over a year now. I dropped the graphics to their very lowest settings when this issue started, just to be sure that wasn't it (it wasn't). Any ideas on how to fix this? (I can attach a picture if needed).

I'm pretty much utterly clueless about tech stuff (and have no clue what an Intel graphics card is).

*ugh* your computer is below the minimum specs. Surprise that it runs Civ5.
In case you haven't turned everything down yet, then you should definitely do it.
Might sound strange, but you should also test if it runs in Dx11. Due to something which I don't understand people have reported that it runs in the DX11 mode better on such a computer.
 
Have this same problem:
It only happens with Animals. (and the lines move with moving animals. the foxes especially produce beautiful effects. but hard to play!)

All the lines (more obvious from other tries than shown in this pic) seem to converge on one point.

I have Re-installed game, verified all files, and as far as I can tell, upgraded to latest drivers. I have tried with High graphic settings and default. Nothing seems to effect it.

Well the default puts most of them at low already. Any specific setting that might be most likely to effect it?

I will try all low. (and DX9 for the heck of it)
 
Sorry, no specific idea.

I see now that this here is also the same problem like here, with the difference that these people have suitable graphics card and could (theoretically) update their drivers. Sadly that's here not possible, because both cards are outdated as hell. But what to do :think:...
 
I'm confused, Civ V has always run fine for me. Does this patch somehow up the requirements in terms of specs?
 
They did some optimizations regarding Intel graphics cards, especially with a view on Win8/touch screens.
Could be that they restructured some code to make it more performant, with the side effect that it doesn't run anymore on older systems. Because like said, the 2 systems here are not really suitable for Civ5, and so probably nobody tested if the patch still runs on these.
 
Wow. So, in other words, that update makes Civ V permanently unplayable for me?

It's a suspicion, nothing more.
Might be there's a way to fix it, might be not, I don't know :dunno:. The devs will have to answer that question :/.

And it occurs to me I never mentioned that I play Vanilla, no mods. (Hint to Steam:Christmas sale?....)
Don't know if that matters.
