I added a few civs to the Americas 1474 AD map and after selecting the civilization, difficulty level, and speed, the Sid Meier's Civilization IV has stopped working popped up with the "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in Civ4BeyondSword.exe [5456]." message. I think I enabled Python popups. The map is below.

Sure that you don't change it in the related .bak file?
Are file extensions for known file types visible on your system? Per default the newer windows versions hide such things like .exe, .jpg, .xml and so on, and you normally have 2 files in the main folder: The .ini file, and the backup file, called .ini.bak. If the file extensions are not visible, the first one will be displayed as civilization4, the second one as civilization4.ini.
Changing it in the second will not have any effect, since it's just a backup and will be overridden at the next start.

I got one error that read as follows:
"Traceback (most recent call last):

File "CvWBInterface", line 65, in getGameData

File "CvUtil", line 172, in findInfoTypeTurn

RuntimeError: unidentifiable C++ exception"

Another error popped up but the game but the game quit before I could read it. I think lines 47 and 1556 had errors in them, as well as another line. I could not find any errors in those lines, and when I tried to go through the process again, it ended before the error popped up.

*might* be that this error is related to some mistakes in the writing of some names, because e.g. upper/lowercase really matters here.
For more info I'd need the both Python files (why do I not have them? Because my gaming computer is at my study place, and I'm now civless at my parents).

Does your Word make a difference between e.g. CIVILIZATION_BYZANTIUM and Civilization_Byzantium? Because Civ makes a difference ;).

And:

EDIT: And happy new year :).

I'm reminding you four days late because I forgot too.

These are the lines the error messages directed me to. I can't find any problems with them.
Line 43:"Tech=TECH_SAILING"
Line 65:"Tech=TECH_MACHINERY"
Line 172:"ContactWithTeam=1"
Line 1566:"Handicap=HANDICAP_NOBLE"

Crap, and I clicked on the thread in the early morning...so a short check...er...the lines refer to the Python file, not directly to the worldbuilder file.
The python file says at line 172...ah...there it reads the calendar.
Check for the calendar entry in your WB file (should be on top), should be something like
PHP:
	Calendar=CALENDAR_DEFAULT

and see if it's somehow different/strange.
EDIT Uh, checked the last attached map, there the calendar entry looks okay.
Might have to check the file itself later today..

...er...I didn't, it was more or less luck.
The error message didn't really make sense, and I remembered it from another thread that a missing EndPlayer caused some problems, therefore I checked the last civs, because not all loaded when I opened the WB file, and there I found it.
So my advice for that case would be to ask, even when it happens again ;).

I seem to be having trouble finding civilizations to add to my mod. Many of the ones I want to add from the downloads database are no longer downloadable, and the few (Esnaz's Israel, Modular Assyria) that are don't seem to work as a mod.
Do you have any suggestions/help?
