I am not a particularly good player, and Emperor is the level I feel most comfortable with. On higher levels I generally feel more frustrated than challenged with OCC. But I did want to spice up my OCC Emperor level game, and having found a great map, I decided to add my own victory conditions to make it more interesting and challenging. I encourage anyone that loves OCC to try it out (if for no other reasons that this is such a great and unique starting location).

Here are the conditions:

1) Wonders: Build each and every World Wonder (including Petra, Great Lighthouse, Machu Pichu, etc.)
2) Culture: Complete 7 Social Policy trees (5 are required for Cultural Victory)
3) Science: Research all technologies including at least one Future Tech
4) Religion: each and every city on the entire map will have adopted your religion
5) Population: grow your city to a pupulation of at least 50
6) Diplomacy (City-States): ally each and every City-State and you must liberate those that have been conquered
7) Diplomacy (other Civs): at the end, each Civ must still be in the game and in control of their original Capital and be friendly towards you
8) Build the Spaceship and win

Ok, now this should be challenging enough. In terms of set-up, I chose: Egypt, Emperor Level, Pangea Plus, Standard Size (8 Civs, 39 City-States), Epic Pace, Strategic Balance (so you have Horses and Iron near your city and so does everyone else), Diplomatic Victory disabled (to avoid issues with all those CSs since 10 votes is all you need on a standrad size map AFAIK, not to mention that there are other conditions you would want to meet first before the game ends), OCC NOT ticked (so you can actually liberate City-Sates and Capitals); start: Classical Era (so you get a Worker from start as well as being able to work on Wonders immediately if you so choose); No Barbarians/Ancient Ruins.

Here is a picture as well as the intial save (and yes, I do realize that some might have preferred to place the city next to the mountain, but I somehow lost the original auto-save having started another game before I decided to continue with this one):

Update: now that I have succesfully completed the challenge, I have added spoiler brackets around all of my progress reports. Condition 7 was certainly the trickiest one to achieve, and condition 5 was the one which took me the longest.

Spoiler

Spoiler :
So far so good. Built Sonehenge, Statue of Zeus, The Great Library and the National College. As a Pantheon belief, I chose Monument of the Gods (+15% Ancient/Classical Wonder production) which together with Egypt's UA (+20%) as well as Marble (+15%) and Aristocracy (+15%) gives me a huge boost to Wonder production. Usually I would take Fertility Rites (+10% Growth), and I hope I won't regret it later. As free tech, I took Philosophy so I could work on the NC immediately after the GL.

I am not doing any exploration yet, keeping my two spearmen close to the city. But as you can see, Suleiman has already targetted me for an attack and I am doing my best with what I've got to fend him off (see picture).

Spoiler

Spoiler :
I finally founded my Religion and just findished the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. The obvious choices were Divine Inspiration and Tithe.

Still no exploration, but I made peace with Suleiman in the meantime, and contact with all other Civs which are now all friendly towards me. In addition, I have uncovered Cahokia just south from my City.

My growth is still sluggish and my city's population is just 6.

Religion.jpg

Spoiler

Spoiler :
I finally get to enhance my religion. I choose Religious Community for the +15% production boost, and Religious Texts (since I want to establish religous dominance).

I've also entered my first Golden Age reaping the full benefits of Chichen Itza, which I managed to finish before the Golden Age started.

Suleiman has declared war on me yet again; and this time he is also bringing catapults and a trireme. As for me, I just upgraded one of my spearman to a pikeman.

Growth has also picked up finally since I finished researching Civile Service in turn 175, and I've got a population of 10 now.

No exploration yet; I need all my units close to home, and not time to build new ones.

EnhRel.jpg

Spoiler :
I just finished Ironworks, and now my productivity is almost scary: 14 Population, producing 117.64 hammers per turn. It will take only 3 turns to finish the Hagia Sophia (this is on epic pace; on standard pace it would take only 2 turns!!).

In the meantime I have also finsihed the Great Mosque of Djenne and started crunching out missionaries. I have sent the first one south, where four city-states are now following my religion, two of which are already my allies. The second missionary I have sent north where two city-states are following my religion, one of which is already my ally.

No exploration yet, and will use the still active missionary up north to explore further.

All Civs are friendly toward me.

I've built 17 World Wonders so far, and the AI has gotten none.

Merenptah!

It would probably be best if moderator moved your thread to general (or strategic) section. Specifics of HoF is that people don't share their saves, but rather set out general targets (leader, standrard, standard, pangaea, etc..) and then compare their results every month.

I m sure many people in relevant section will be interested to try out you save. ;)

i love occ games and like the general idea of your challenge, but classical era start, city already placed and epic speed makes this a no go for me. honestly, i also think that its impossible to win with all your 8 conditions fulfilled (at least on standard speed, i'm not very familiar with slower game speeds).

Spoiler :
Just finished the Hermitage boosting my overal culture per turn to 162.

World Wonders: 22/39. AI still none.

City-State Allies: 6/39.

Social Policies: 10/42. Went all the way to Scholasticism in the Patronage tree after Rationalism opener to get the Science advantage from my City-State allies. All other Civs are friendly towards me.

Exploration: build a Trireme, Scout and Great Prophet, all of which will be used for exploring. Discovered Belgrade to the north-easet and the fact that it has been conquered by Korea (so it must be liberated at some point). Istambul is on the coast just to the south beyond a mountain range.

Spoiler :
Just finished the Public School brining my total Science output to 240 with Population 20, one Academy but no Science specialists.

I am using two Culture specialists at the moment to speed up completion of the Rationalism tree. With Secularism they also provide some Science. Should get the last Rationalism Policy (Scientific Revolution; I am not signing any RAs) in five turns and will take Industrialization and Electricity as free techs.

World Wonders: 27/39. AI none, and I am still the tech leader.

City-State Allies: 13/39. Other Civs are all friendly except for Hiawatha who is now guarded for some reason.

Exploration: uncovered Askia to the East and Hiawatha to the south-east. Both have founded a religion, and this must be taken care of. Also, Hiawatha has captured Mombasa which will need to be liberated later on. I have to Missionaries out on conversion duty and two waiting next to city for astronomy to finish so I can send them across the ocean for conversion of those city-states in the west.

PublicSchool.jpg

Spoiler :
Just finished the Statue of Liberty, which is usually quite hard to get, and now the World Wonder count is 31/39.

Social Policies: 22/42; Tradition 6/6; Rationalism 6/6; Patronage 5/6; Commerce 2/6; Freedom 3/6;

After building the Brandenburg Gate and Military Academy, I started cruching out Frigates, and then sent my fleet down south once Suleiman attacked me yet again. Songhai attacked me also to the east. This time however, I will not sign any peace before having liberated the city-states they captured (Belgrade captured by Korea and Quebec City captured by the Ottomans); and in the process I will also raze a few of their cities. :D

StatueOfLiberty.jpg

Spoiler :
Just finished Cristo Redentor and started building the Hospital. Current population is 29, to be 30 next turn.

World Wonder count to 33/39.

Social Policies: 24/42.

City-State Allies: 31/39.

Dido, Askia and Pacal are friendly; Washington and Hiawatha are guarded; and I am still at war with Suleiman and Songhai, and the two City-States still not liberated. Moved my fleet up north to take a Korean coastal city, and struggling with that Ottoman city stuck between mountain ranges to the south ... need Artillery badly.

Cristo.jpg

Spoiler :
Just finished Computers so I can start the Great Firewall which will finish in 6 turns.

World Wonder count 35/39.

Social Policies: 30/42 (could built the Utopia Project now if I had focused on only 5 trees); Tradition 6/6; Rationalism 6/6; Patronage 6/6; Freedom 6/6; Commerce 2/6; Honor 4/6.

City-State Allies: 39/39, all have been liberated. I also just realized that there are actually only 39 City-States on the map, instead of 40 as I had selected ... must be some space issue.

All civs still hold their original capital. All are friendly towards me, except Pacal who is guarded and I am currently at war with Hiawatha, razing a few of his cities (not touching the capital) after liberating the City-State he occupied and before signing peace.

Computers.jpg

Spoiler :
Just completed Nuclear Fusion and upgraded by Modern Armor to a Giant Death Robot :)

I am the only Religion left on the map with 66 cities following my religion, and Tithe giving me 176 Gold per turn! The other four Holy Cities have all been captured by City-States (not by myself). Soul (HS for Hinduism) has been captured by Belgrade; Palenque (HS for Christianity) has been captured by Almaty; Gao (HS for Islam) has been captured by Prague; and Onondage (HS for Buddhism) has been captured by Mombasa.

Of course, I've been supplying the City-States with state-of-the-art weaponry, and it was great fun watch them take other Civs cities and raze one after the other while puppeting capitals. To aid in logisitics, I've also built a railroad all the way south to Mombasa connecting 6 city states to my captial in the process. In addition, I have used great generals to expand my territory soutwards (see picture).

Each and all of my workable land tiles are now covered with Great Tile Improvemens (6 Manufactories, 6 Academies, and 9 Landmarks), with the exception of two Lux, Marble and Salt.

World Wonders: 38/39 (still missing CN Tower)

Social Polcies: 37/42; completed Tradition, Rationalsim, Patronage, Freedom, Honor, and Commerce, and just opened Liberty

City-States: 39/39; all liberated.

Only Washington and Dido are still in the game, and they are both friendly towards me.

Population: 42/50.

Reli.jpg

Spoiler :
Just finished building the SS Engine, which is the last part to complete my Spaceship. However, I will park it next to the city as I still need to fullfill the other criteria.

World Wonders: 38/39 (CN tower still missing, but will use it to get the 50th population since growht is really sluggish now and is proving to be the hardest part)

Population: 45/50.

Social Policies: 39/42.

Religion: each and every city on the map has adopted my religion.

City-States: 39/39; all liberated.

In the meantime I have liberated the Mayas (only Civ still in the game except for myself and they are afraid of me). Did that before Washington declared war on Mombasa and Carthage declared war on Prague. Big mistake on their part ;)

Mombasa took Washington relatively swiftly, which it now holds in addition to Onondage. This was thanks to well developed logistics, i.e. a Railroad I had built there so I could supply it with a constant stream of Giant Death Robots. The war between Carthage took much longer and close to 30 turns since Carthage had grown really strong; even after taking out four cities Prague was still hesitant to attack the capital but it finally did. And it is now holding two capitals: Gao and Carthage.

Spaceship.jpg

Spoiler :
Just finished my 7th Social Policy tree (Liberty). In the meantime I have also liberated each of the other Civs that had been captured by the City-States. Sound Gold reserves helped me to ally back those city-states the very same turn I liberated those capitals they had captured. In terms of Science I actually finished Globalization in turn 552, and been researching Future Techs since.

What is holding me back now is population growth. Will time it so that the population increase from 48 to 49 conicides with completion of the CN Tower, so I will go from poopulation 48 to population 50 in the same turn.

World Wonders: 38/39

Population: 48/50

Social Policies: 42/42

City-States: allied 39/39; all liberated

Other Civs: 7/7; all liberated and friendly

Science: all Techs including Future Tech

SPcomplete.jpg

:) At last I got my Population criteria complete; the last 11 turns were just about that. Overall it was one of the most fun Civ games I have ever played. Also, despite being an OCC I clearly felt that I dominated the map and that I had good control over where the game was going.

Condition 1: Built all World Wonders (max Score = 39*25=975)

Vic1_Wonders.jpg

Condition 2: Completed 7 Social Policy trees (42 social Policies)

Vic2_Culture.jpg

Condition 3: Researched all technologies including Future Tech

Condition 4: Every city on the map has adopted my religion

Vic4_Religion.jpg

Condition 5: Reached Population 50

Vic5_Population.jpg

Conditions 6 and 7: Would get Unanimous UN Vote (actually more than the original conditions, but since I've actually liberated each and every Civ after it had been completely eliminated they would be voting for me no matter what :) )

Vic671_Diplomacy.jpgVic6712_Diplomacy.jpgVic673_Diplomacy.jpgVic674_Diplomacy.jpg

Condition 8: Built the Spaceship

Vic8_Spaceship.jpg

This is also the first OCC game at emperor level where I Rank #1 on all of the 8 demographic stats :)

Demographics.jpg

Thanks to all that have been following this. I am looking forward to questions as well as suggestions on how this could have been achieved more efficiently. In addition I also would like to hear from those trying it out for themselves for the fun of it. And trust me, if you love OCC you are certainly going to enjoy this ;)

Wow...just wow.
How did you build the Statue of Zeus? The AI always builds it!
And I'd have said condition 7 is nearly impossible. :P
