I propose a new punk.
Dieselpunk mostly deals with crazy projects of early 20th century.
Atompunk is mostly about projects of the 1950s-1960s.
Biopunk and Cyberpunk mostly deal with crazy projects of 21st century.
There is a gap in there that could be filled with crazy projects of late 20th century/very early 21st century (say 1970-2010). Since that is the Space age, I'll use the name Spacepunk.

Units that would fall in here:
Babylon Gun
Aurora Spy Plane
Blackstar Bomber
Ekranoplan - http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=WopbvjBMa3A
Concrete submarine
Laser tank
Laser Plane
Stratospheric Artillery
And generally other stuff usually seen on conspiracy websites, X-Files and such...

Your thoughts?

Well if you wanted to, you could probably push these units into existing categories...
But I'm not sure which one would go there, since none of these units are "atomic", "cyber", or "bio". And they usually are too exotic for "normal" tech trees (except maybe as future units, but even then they're a little weird)

I guess Atompunk could be stretched to cover 1970s and Cyberpunk to cover 1980s...
So in case there won't be any new x-punk techs...
Babylon Gun - Atompunk
Aurora Spy Plane - could be merged with Hypersonic Fighter/Bomber, or included as Hypersonic Recon Plane
Blackstar Bomber - Pretty much the same as Hypersonic/Orbital Bomber
Ekranoplan - Advanced Hovercraft currently fills pretty much the same role... I'll make a longer post about this later.
Concrete submarine - Can be a normal unit.
Laser tank - Can be removed
Laser Plane - Can be removed (is effectively a part of SDI)
Stratospheric Artillery - Can be a normal unit

Cyberpunk is not for 21st century, lot of people think we are in a form of cyberpunk world ;)

Spacepunk is more futurist, maybe more than biopunk, so for me, it would be far later in the game.

In this gap, I can see Teslapunk (based on a nearly free electricity), with lowcost powerplant and electric-based units (Tank Tesla of C&C...). It can be useful for a player without any way to have oil

Corporations standing above the law? Check
Artificial limbs? Check
Oppressive governments vs techno-anarchists? Check

Yeah, I can see why people would think that :D

Anyway, I personally consider Teslapunk a subset of Atompunk (energy is transmitted wirelessly, but still has to come from somewhere). A great description of such a world is Gernsback from GURPS Alternate Earths (also contains Cyberpunkish Shikaku-Mon, Dieselpunkisch Reich-5 and a bunch of others).
