Lately I've been getting a little annoyed with seeing Montezuma and Huayna Capac continue to lead their civs into the 21st century. Therefore, with the help of Leoreth, I modded in José de San Martin from Colonization to replace Huayna, and Ekmek's Benito Juarez to replace Monty when their civs reach the Renaissance. Since Colonization also contains a great George III leaderhead, I didn't want to stop there and added him to the English leader roster (he now replaces Elizabeth once England reaches the Industrial era, but gives way to Victoria at Assembly Line).

Included in this modmodmod are all three of these leaders. Installation instructions:
1: Copy the Sounds and Art folders into Mods/RFC Dawn of Civilization/Assets. These won't overwrite anything.
2: Go into Assets/Python and make a backup of DynamicCivs.py, then replace that file with the one in the Python folder in this download.
3: Back-up Assets/XML/Audio/Audio2DScripts.xml, AudioDefines.xml; Assets/XML/Art/CIV4ArtDefines_Leaderhead.xml; Assets/XML/Civilizations/CIV4LeaderHeadInfos.xml; and one of the XML files in Assets/XML/Text.
4: Add the contents of the five files in the XML folder of the download to the bottom of the five files you backed up. But not at the very last line:
In Audio2DScripts, add it between </Script2DSound>
and </Script2DSounds>

In AudioDefines, add it between </SoundData>
and </SoundDatas>

In CIV4ArtDefines_Leaderhead, add it between </LeaderheadArtInfo>
and </LeaderheadArtInfos>

In CIV4LeaderHeadInfos, add it between </LeaderHeadInfo>
and </LeaderHeadInfos>

Finally, in the text file, add it between </TEXT>
and </Civ4GameText>

Sorry for the somewhat complicated install.

Credits:
José de San Martin and George III leaderheads are from Civ 4: Colonization.
Benito Juarez leaderhead is by Ekmek.
José de San Martin's text is from Colonization.
Benito Juarez' text is by Ekmek.
George III's text is by me, inspired by Blackadder.

Note that George III and San Martin miss their buttons; this is not much of an issue since leader buttons are barely displayed in DoC, though.

Interesting that you chose Juarez over Porfirio Diaz (or even Santa Anna). What was the crux of that decision?

The database has no Diaz LH. I assume Santa Anna wasn't chosen because he's quite controversial (but I'd still have taken him instead).

I think that George III should start in the Renaissance - perhaps with Rifling. Otherwise, I suppose, he and Victoria would appear too late. I personally don't think of the Industrial Revolution starting with his reign.

And I was thinking about the "Benito Juarez vs. Santa Anna" thing too. Meh, must be the effects of the American educational system (ie. only Santa Anna being talked about, in the context of Texas Independence and the Mexican-American War*).

*And off topic, but maybe Mexico should have, as historical area, the territories it used to own before the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

I just watched the King's Speech. Could you make a George VI? The dialogue should be easy too.

Too close to sir Winston Churchill...

Would it possible to fix this bug about Russian leader: when Russia turns to state property and the diplomacy name is USSR, the leader is still Nicolas II, obviously Stalin is suitable.

Good sir, you're making the quality of this forum soar to new heights!

Hehe, thanks.

Well, it wasn't much of a conscious decision; it was a combination of Juarez being the first who came to mind for me for a Mexican leader and coming across the leaderhead for him.

I think that George III should start in the Renaissance - perhaps with Rifling. Otherwise, I suppose, he and Victoria would appear too late. I personally don't think of the Industrial Revolution starting with his reign.

I considered this indeed, but the problem to me is that in my games, England often seems to beeline right into the Industrial era, sometimes skipping Rifling (you'd think they were going for their UHV), or getting it one tech before the Industrial era, which would make George not appear at all, or only very briefly (like Peter). I thought of having him take over at another Renaissance tech instead, but I just don't really know which one, if any, the AI usually picks up not too early, but not too late into the era either. Assembly Line, on the other hand, is almost always more or less beelined, but since it's at least three techs into the Industrial era it tends to come about halfway into it, letting both George and Victoria have time to rule. England's fast tech rate seems to make the dates fit more or less too.

Also, the Industrial Revolution is usually considered to have started in about 1750-1780 (remember, it began earlier in Britain than other places), which fits well with his rule.

I gotta agree with Benito Juarez being included in the mod. There is a reason why he was elected 5 times President. Santa Ana and Diaz are cool too, but Juarez is cooler (Besides, I dare say that he is more known than Santa Ana; US not included)

San Martin I think that, while he does rock, wouldn't have been my first pick on a new Incan/Peruvian LH. Still, he's way better than Huayna for representing Peru, so yay.

George III is a nice addition, although I think that he might appear sporadically in game due to the way England AI does its research. Anyhow, bravo sir for the modmodmod :D
