Hi guys. I'm bored. So I posted this.

So what IS this? I dunno. I guess it's a NES.

Rules? None. Map? Nope. Setting? I dunno.

Whatever this happens to be, I'll add something every dayish. Call it an update or whatever. All creative possibilities are still open. First poster gets to shape the basis of this world.

Oh, and please don't take this seriously, at all. But don't be crazy. Or whatever. Just have fun, and respect the world, whatever it happens to be.

THIS IS THE SLEEP DEPRIVATION SPEAKING MWAHAHAHAHA.

World is inhabited solely by beings with the face of Morgan Freeman.

Because reasons to be elaborated upon later, what would be the United States is divided into feuding petty republics and potentially kingdoms, with various alliances and compacts to European powers in order to maintain their independence from Britain.

Mediterranean cultures/peoples differentiate from each other based on tattoos given on their 15th birthday.

OOC: Thanks for humoring me guys. Hopefully mutual respect can lead to a viable shared world. :crazyeye:

Different tattoos are reserved for different social groups and classes. Meaning, nobles of the House of Randomname would have their own specific tattoo for members of their family and for any families sworn to them than the House of Genericname.

"Dude, what is that?"

"Steampunk element."

"What's a steampunk element?"

"Not sure yet, it is just a prototype."

Steampowered spinning wheels? Airships with sails?

The Mormon bicycle rider hordes invade the Californian republic.

The Mormon bicycle rider hordes invade the Californian republic.

Early Mormonism is even more reminiscent of a true church militant, resulting in a more dramatic cycle of retribution between Mormon fanatics and settlers of the midwest, potentially the formation of a Mormon state.

Airships with sails sounds neat. Maybe have a few of those being utilized in the colonies?

The Mormons are among the first to use steampunk elements in warfare, powering their bikes with highly pressurized steam "batteries" attached to turbines, giving them unprecedented speed and mobility. Of course, they rely heavily on their steam supplies to maintain momentum, giving them a new weakness as well.

EDIT: Basically 2 parts. 1: A highly pressurized canister filled with steam/air, and 2: a piston/turbine through which this stored energy, when the valve is opened, will go through, powering the device/bicycle.

Europe is largely dominated by Italian-and-Dutch-style merchant republics, with Venice itself being among the most powerful nations on the planet.

The Ottoman Empire has nearly collapsed already, with most of the Balkans being free of their control and the loss of Arabian lands imminent.

Mormonism was founded during the first great awakening instead of the second.

The earliest Sail-Air-Ship was deployed on a Trans-Alpine trade route. It was later used to bomb Geneva into rubble.

Northern Europe and Spain, as well as the crumbling Holy Roman Empire, are the last hold-outs of absolutist, monarchical states. Competitors to these titles include the Russian and Ottoman empires, however, the latter has been significantly weakened by nigh-constant Venetian intervention, interference and politicking.

Many of those merchant republics are being run from behind the scenes by large families, such as the De Medici, which often secretly own multiple nations.

In the far east, one of the rising powers is a recently modernised Empire of Siam, which has already conquered Indochina and now casts its gaze hungrily at Venetian Indonesia.

I will have my Siamwank!

Edit: Also, flying steampunk sky-junks. Thats just awesome.

Contributing to the general dereliction of the Holy Roman Empire is, as a reaction to the advanced pace of industrial technology vis a vis steampunk, roaming bands of Luddite-style fanatics destroying factories, putting towns to the sword and generally wreaking havoc.

Naturally, they are the evil Amish, who believe that modern industrial technology is sinful as it empowers merchants and the untitled and distracts from a pious life.

As a corollary, there is no such thing as Radical Republicanism as of yet.

Indian peoples distinguish themselves by the cut of their hair, beards, mustaches, eyebrows, etc.
