Beefjack interview (Morocco hinted?)

You might find a spearhead from a French spearman that died to a Moroccan warrior

So is it an error or is Morocco confirmed?

Morocco? But hasn't Marrakesh already been seen as a City State in BNW...?

edit: Or maybe it hasn't - the fact that some reviewers are re-using shots from G+K is really throwing me off.

Nice spot. It seems like it could very well be a slip. It's too blatant for a hint, and too incogruous to be a red herring (it'd be a flat-out lie).

I guess it all matters if he means france was fighting morocco as a civ or as a city state

Well it could just be related to the scenario "Scramble for Africa", so nothing confirmed yet. But I am hoping there in.

I would really like a Marrocco Civ, maybe mbanza-kongo replace Marrakesh in city states.

would archaeology by enabled for that mod? they did say one of three groups were north african, so it's possible it could be just for the scenario (or a full civ and used for the scenario)

I would be curious what kind of civ Morocco would be. I lean towards cultural, myself, but I don't know for sure.

Well...I'm convinced. I feel like Morocco was the strongest African candidate aside from Kongo. And the interviewee wouldn't just pull that out of thin air.

I think there are several possibilities. I agree with cultural, but scientific could be a possibility if they would represent the moors in iberian peninsula too. Another possibility is trade related with in mind the gold, salt and slavery trade routes.

I'm going to say that Morocco was always a likely candidate, so this could be a slip that they're in. However, it's far too vague to be sure and we shouldn't read too much into it.

That being said, let the speculation begin ;)

So apparently you will be able to trade Great Works aswell as taking them through conquest, interesting! :)

agreed. obviously, to bring up the "confirmed" debate from the Zulu thread, Morocco cannot be considered confirmed but for me the question is now the last three Civs

Moderator might as well change the topic title to "Morocco quasi-confirmed"

Is there a resource which would scream Morocco?

semolina? but thats derived from wheat.....

as for the leader, either Idris I (who unified the tribes and introduced Islam) or Ismail ibn Sharif (who was a military leader of some repute and established Moroccan independence of the Ottomans)
