Civ4Col Modder
Hi guys,
over the last months and also recently I have had several discussions with experienced Civ4Col modders and people that want to become Civ4Col modders about possible projects.
Many times I heard something like
"I would really like to do this big project but I can only do X."
(X being programming or graphics or XML or texts or ...)
Well yes, it is obvious, that it is almost impossible to be an expert for everything.
Even having a really good understanding of all technologies involved might take years of experience.
And even if you have a general understanding of all technologies that still does not mean, that you can create a really big mod (or modmod) all alone.
The amount of work that has gone into big projects like TAC or Religion and Revolution is simply unbelievable.
It would never have been possible for one person alone to create so many features and improvements with comparable quality.
It is of course not always easy to work in a team and keep that team together but what is the alternative ?
Summary:
Discuss your ideas, try to find common interests and form teams to create a project or at least cooperations to create specific features.
----
Happy modding.
