'sup fellow CFCers. I'm traveling to a conference, and after nearly being stranded in Salt Lake City I have reached my final destination in Boise, ID. Hotel surprisingly has access to the evil librul media--MSNBC was the first channel that popped up when I turned on the TV. No potatoes spotted yet.

So let's use this space to discuss all things Idaho and potato-related.

Idaho is one of the few states I've never even been through. I feel no compelling reason to change that.

Doesn't zelet or somebody live there?

The Great Seal of Idaho was designed in 1890 by Mrs. Emma Edwards Green. It is the only Great Seal in the 50 states to be designed by a woman.

I went through the northwest corner of Idaho, back in the late '80s (on the way home from a weekend in Spokane, Washington). What I noticed was all the little crosses beside the road... they must have a lot of accidents there.

And I know a couple from Moscow, Idaho... he's a science fiction collection appraiser (mainly art and books). His wife is a pro Star Trek author (V.E. Mitchell).

I remember somebody wrote a research paper as a joke that supposedly proved Idaho doesn't really exist and it's existance is a lie perpetuated by the government. Even though it was a joke paper, I remember it being surprisingly well-written and could probably convince some people that Idaho, in fact, does not exist.

EDIT: This isn't the actual paper I read, but this is pretty much the same thing and I think it's by the same guy: Idaho doesn't exist

No Dune fan would forget it. After all, the only character present in all six books is Duncan Idaho. :D

I've heard the Snake River is pretty, and the skiing is good *cue Zelet*

Where's Idaho? And more importantly, how many Europeans can find it on a map? ...

(J/K, that's not important at all)

What state is Boise the capital of?

Idaho.

THAT'S RIGHT, U DA HO HAWHAWHAW

My wife and I know a ton of people from Idaho, since it's basically Utah Jr. Gross.

The movie Dante's Peak with Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton was shot in Wallace, Idaho. I visited the area on vacation years before the movie came out. It personalized the movie through remembering many of the "scenes" from seeing them in real life.

My sum knowledge of Idaho is that you get to it through the back of an old wardrobe in a disused room of your eccentric guardian's country home.

My youngest brother lives in Boise, Idaho! Say hi for me.
