I was playing as Spain (Pangaea plus, standard speed, large map, immortal), and i was doing quite well and kinda became careless when this happened;

damn Shaka, he ruined a nice game (he razed Toledo east of Cordoba 1st).

Shaka should never catch you off guard because you should always be on guard when Shaka is in the game.

Happened to me too ... I was happily racing towards a culture win and we were all in the same ideology and shaka was my pal an all that ... it's not like I didn't have a military but on Immortal he builds like a gazillion units :(

He Dow'ed me and BAM ... :blush:

I think the correct wording here is...
Boom Shaka Laka Laka Boom Boom.

Ouch :D You have my sympathies but this is what happens if you have no proper army against Shaka. He is a war machine, definitely my favorite leader on BNW.

No offense but that's just plain stupid. You were in a game with three warmongers, and it seems that you also had the Ottomans in the East which aren't that well known as peacemongers as well. From the looks of it the Aztecs already destroyed a civilization, yet this didn't alarm you? You could have avoided this easily mate.

I've survived a siege like this, barely, by not caring about the city's health and only caring about destroying all melee units asap. I had a few more units tho

You've been Shakalized. It happened to me a couple of times, you just can't be careless on Immortal+ diffs when Shaka's on board. Even on Emperor you can't ignore your military entirely when he's around. Because when he declares... he means it.

I was sharing a border with Shaka as Venice. Simply put, I put almost all my army in that area; and he kept away. I think if you have military assets in the area, you decrease the chances of being "Shakalized"

Lol, I created a Great Wall of Forts on my border with Shaka. I'm so freaking paranoid now!

In retrospect, I wish I didn't use my GG to steal Potosi :( from the Mayas.

I played a game a few days ago as Assyria and Shaka was in my neighborhood. I took his capital early and left him with one city thinking that he was neutralized. The Shaka took down the Celts, marched around their former capital to wipe out Korea (who I had taken Seoul from already), and then came back around to retake their capital. Shaka came back from the dead and did all this. He took back his capital from me but I stormed back and put him back in his place...

No, they are quite peacefully. Suleiman always complain that I am a "warmongering menace to the world" even if he is constantly at war with someone (and sometimes even clears up other civs). :lol: and the only war I see is the one where I was attacked then went into offense. :mischief::rolleyes:
