Introduction
The barbarians are destroyed for the most part and now it is time for empires to be built. Who will emerge on top?

Rules:
This is like a basic story NES. These are the categories your nation can improve in: Army, Navy, Air Force (later on), Economy, Education, Culture, and Confidence in leader (it takes 1 turn to improve any stat, you can only improve 1 stat per turn, each upgrade costs one economy level):

Army- This size determines the manpower of your army, and the age determines the weapons and technology advantage of your army. Upgrading your army to a new age causes your army size to decrease. There are 8 levels:
None
Tiny
Small
Medium
Large
Very Large
Gigantic
Imperial

Navy- Basically same as army, except age also counts for how far you cansail

Air Force- Basically same as army and navy

Economy- Determines what level of military you can support. Your military will go down every two turns if you cannot support it.

Depression-Tiny/None
Recession-Small
Stable-Medium
Prosperous-Large
Very Prosperous-Very Large
Outstanding-Gigantic
Booming-Imperial

Education-Determines how fast you can reasearch new ages. Although ages will be based on their real historical dates, there still might be a few turns in between when you get and age and when another player gets an age.

Semi-Intelligent
Illiterate
Literate
Intelligent
Intellectual

Culture-Determines how happy you people, how hard they will resist a foreign invader, or if they are likely
to convert to a nearby civilization or vice versa. Note: Conversion is different than rebellion.

None
Low
Medium
High
Outstanding

Confidemce in Leader: Determined by how often you write stories or other creative things about your nation.
If confidence is high then random events will likely be better, your people are less likely to rebel against you, and your army will do better in battle. Same levels as culture.

Also, there are some other aspects to the game:
If you expand too fast too early in the game people in the far reaches of your Empire will most likely rebel or your civilization will descend into civil war no matter what the confidence in leader or culture is. This effect wears out about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way in the game. Another way to counteract this is to keep a large portion of your military to keep the peace.

As I said earlier ages will be based on real historical dates, so don't be surprised if you are stuck in an age for a while.

You can make up anyhting (realistic, if you're not sure ask me) aobut your nation out side these rules.

Remember: the main aspect of this game is to have fun.

Ages:
Stone Age: Men with clubs and stone axes; canoes, rafts seafaring limited to rivers and lakes
Bronze Age: Spearmen, archers; triremes, seafaring limited to bays, coasts and small seas

Iron Age: Swordsmen, chariots, archers; fire ships, seafaring limited to most seas Trans Pacific Crossing from Kamchatka to Alaska possible
Classical Age: Swordsmen, bowmen, horsemen; fire ships, galleys, seafaring is limited to all seas
Dark Ages: Swordsmen, longbowmen, horsemen, catapults; heavy galleys, seafaring limited to all seas plus Transatlantic crossings via Greenland are possible
Middle Ages: Knights, Crossbowmen, Pikemen, trebuchets; caravels (no cannon), seafaring the same
Renaissance: Arbeques, cannon, pikemen; caravels (cannon), Trans-Atlantic crossing possible
Gunpowder Age: Musketmen, cannon, cavalry; galleons, frigates, all water navigable
Industrial Age: Riflemen, Early Machine Guns, cannon, cavalry; ironclads, steamboats, railroads; battle baloons
Early Modern Age: Riflemen, trench warfare, early artillery, poison gas, machine guns, early tanks; early battleships, destroyers, submarines; biplanes, airships
Middle Modern Age: Infantry, paratroopers, marines, panzers, artillery; battleships, destroyers,
submarines, early carriers; prop fighters, prop bombers, early jets (later on in age), early nuclear bombs
Late Modern Age: Infantry, paratroops, marines, modern armor, radar artillery; heavy battleships,
destroyers, frigates, carriers, nuclear submarines; heavy bombers, stealth bombers, modern jets,
helicopters, cruise missles, ICBM's, early space flight
Digital Age:Clone warriors, space cities and combat, hovercraft of all sorts, advanced medicine

The desert air was no better near Mother then it was out in the middle of the desert. However, Mother always provided food and nurishment for her children, the children of Egypt. Mother Nile, the source of all life, seemed to be the most vibant where Rameses stood right now. Upon the hard dirt, covered with grass, he stabbed his staff down and proclaimed to the people,

"This is where Thebes shall be, the center of Egypt!"

Years later the small bad of wanderers had finished the first permanant village in the world. The homes, made of mud brick discovered by the Pharoah himself, dotted the grasslands near the nile. Trees provided shade for the children to play in. Rameses looked over the developing culture as more and more people had time to spare over the new irrigation system implemented by the army and scientists. People were spending time with their children, playing Lepitite (a game), and practicing fighting. It was a good life in Thebes, Pharoah thought, and he should spread this leisure to all of Mother Nile.

ORDERS
Expand as much as possible
Increase Economy
QUESTIONS: 1.) Does upgraded your army/navy to a new age take an economy level? 2.) For industrious countries, does it take another economy level when you increase your second stat?

Nice game, Naervod. Looking forward to it, just please make sure you keep updating :).

Jason

1) Yes upgrading army/navy/Af to a new age is like upgrading the size, except it takes an economy level and the level of what you're upgrading.

2)Good question, I haven't decided yet, I will rule on it first update.

Depending on amount of signups, first update will be anytime Thursday thru Sunday. Map will be updated tomorrow to show national starting positions.

EDIT- Also, pug you can have a medium army and no navy if you are landlocked, like you, not medium army tiny navy like you put.

Dhanis Khan surveyed the vast steppes of eastern Europe. "Bueatiful, isnt it" said Dhanis more to himself than any one else.

"Those savages in Mongolia would never had taken the time to appreciate the buety of such things. Only when they were soaked in human blood" Dhanis said with scorn in his voice

"That is why we left, why we have formed this seperate, true, Khanate. To appreciate life." said a man behind Dhanis, Ghenghis II. He had seen all the horrors of the Mongrols, as he called them, ever since his tender age of 3.

"Maybe one day, those Mongrols will join us, the Golden Horde, or their deserts will be soaked in blood" Dhanis chuckled almost silently to himself.
