Rules

Spoiler :

I. Obey the Forum Rules. Seriously.
* I reserve the right to remove anyone from the game if they try to break any of the forum or this game's rules. So just don't break any...

II. You can't edit your posts. All votes in edited posts are invalid, and repeated offenses results in BAD STUFF HAPPENING! (Caps.)

III. This game has 2 phases: Day and Night.
* Day is 24 hours, and Night is 24 hours. Though my schedule is crazy on occasion, so these are just rough estimates.
* During the day, vote for who you think is guilty.
* During the Night, any and all people with Night actions should PM them to me.

IV. You cannot quote, take images of, etc., your Role PM. However, you may paraphrase your role. It's not that hard to do.
* You may make your own QuickTopics, but you must send me the link.
* You may talk to another player via PM; Do not break the rules while communicating.

V. This is a clue mafia game. When the mafia make their kills, they must send in a clue with it (if applicable ).
* The clue must have a hint toward the player who made the kill, and you must explain it to me.
* If no clue is given/the clue is senseless and I can't get you to change it, I will make one for you.
* You may make false clues. However, you may only make 1 in a row. You may make as many true ones as you wish... :p
* The clues will be in the writeup in Gray.

VI. Votes should be cast in the Vote: Columbo format. Unvotes are not required, though obviously allowed. Unvoting without a new vote counts as Abstain. You get as many votes as there are mafia remaining.
* You also may simply bold the person you want to vote, like topsecret.
* Abstain is allowed. No Lynch is not allowed.
* If you notice a mistake in the tally, please PM me about it.
* The top X candidates will be lynched, where X is the remaining mafia players.

VII. Alignments:
* Massive Association For Insane Assassins (a.k.a. M.A.F.I.A.)
* Town (Who Doesn't Have an Awesome Name) (a.k.a. T.W.D.H.A.N. or Town)
* Maybe some other factions... :mischief:
* Everyone will receive a role PM. So don't panic.

VIII. A standard townie role is as follows:
Spoiler :
Name: Mrs. Columbo
Alignment: Town
Victory Condition: Find the M.A.F.I.A. members and bring them to justice!
Abilities: None.

* Other alignment(s) [If applicable] have different victory conditions.

IX. All abilities you have are in your Role PM.
* To use an ability, send me a PM with your target. You may use only one ability per night unless otherwise stated.
* You may or may not receive a result PM for your night action.
* If you don't have an ability, please don't automatically say, "I'm useless. I'm not even going to vote." You have the clues, your mind, and your vote. Use them.

X. When you're dead, you may make one BAH! (or Ha!, where restrictions do not apply) comment. Otherwise, please stay quiet.
* Dead players may get a QT link with game details.

XI. I will replace and remove people as I see fit. This is all left to the host’s discretion.
* If you wish to be replaced, let me know in thread or by PM, and I will try to find you a replacement.
* Please be active. I would like to have a game with 100% activity, and we will all enjoy it more if we do.

If someone has questions, PM them to me.
Most importantly, have fun! (and win! Oh...)

Columbo walked into his kitchen, tired from another day of work. He had, of course, had lost the pencil his wife gave him that morning.

"Hello? I'm home! Dinner smells pretty good, but I-" Columbo's usual jabber was cut off when he saw the window wide open.

"What, Lieutenant? You were saying something. Pray continue.", said the man hiding in the shadows. Columbo turned, but he said, "That's far enough. I don't need you to come toward me. I just came to- how shall I say this?- give you a little visit. Let you know what you'll be facing, as it were."

"Do I know you?" said Columbo, half staring into the shadows. His glass eye never moved an inch, but his other eye picked up that this man was tall and relatively thin. "I'm just looking for my wife. She always cooks Lasanga on Thursdays, but today she-"

"Fool. Can't you tell I've kidnapped your wife?"

"What? I don't think that's very smart, sir, if you don't mind my saying so. I mean, she can cook decently, but sometimes she gets loud. And it's a felony. You did know that, didn't you? I think we need to just think this over..."

"BAH! No more games Columbo. I am not one of those murderers you chase all over creation. I'm much more powerful than you think, so no more silly stuff. This is serious." The man smiled. It didn't do him much good because he was in pitch darkness, but he did it anyway. "I've devised a test for you. You simply have to pick out the assassins in the midst of 20 people. No problem, right? You faced them before, so all you have to do is convince the other, innocent people that those are the assassins. These guys leave too many clues anyway. Simple for you, right?"

"Did you say something? And what did you pay for those shoes?"

"THAT'S IT! You can't even see my shoes, let alone admire them! Back to the business at hand. Can you prove to these people that my assassins are really guilty?"

"Of course, of course. Now, was it $50? $100? Those are nice shoes..."

"No! NO! Not one more thing out of you! Just see that you show up at the Ambassador Hotel tomorrow at noon. OK?"

"Sure, sure." Columbo sit in his favorite chair, and watched as the shadow approached the door. "Hey, just one more little thing..."

The shadow stopped.

"Have you seen my wife? She should be here by now..."

Should allow for the original clue mafia voting style or not having to use 'vote:'.

I'll still count if you don't say "vote". That's one of the "rules" that aren't really enforced.

Am I crazy, or is there no Mayor Meuilleur? This amounts to high treason.
Mayor Meuilleur? I'm missing something here, I don't know what... and I have a feeling it's important. And you're going to be shocked I don't know what you're talking about. :sarcasm:
So are there multiple kills and/or lynches?

No. *Correction* Yes, there are now.

So do the mafia send in a clue for one of their number, or one clue for each of them?

One clue for the one kill.
The clue must have a hint toward the player who made the kill, and you must explain it to me.

I thought we already discussed the mandatory/legendary writeup for clue games in the Mafia Info Thread.

Isn't this more of a small game with clue elements than a true clue game? If people have night abilities, only one vote for the lynch, only one kill, no Mayor Meuilleur...

Well... yes, really. I could change it so we had more kills/lynches, and/or scrap the roles with night abilities. If people don't feel like it's a clue game, I can make it a real clue game... but I'm OK either way.
