Welcome to the fourth adventure of the Vietnamese! This time our hero is Nguyen Phuc Chu, who extended the south Vietnam land to a state nearly as today. He'll compete against 16 leaders on a large Continents map. The speed has been set to Marathon, so it will be even more than epic. This is the pre-game settings:

That's a hilled capital, so someone will need a large army to win it. It's a bit lucky we managed to see the American city because it's on a hill. Thanks I'm running the Vietnam 1.4 mod. Since it's Vanilla, there's no UB, but I'm planning to do a BtS version soon, if I got help from those kind people on this forum. The UU is No lien chau - the original form of the Chokonu, but way earlier & a bit weaker - they stole from us after one of their defeat! Well, we have to admit that the Chinese can copy virtually anything

Now that the game is approaching the first 100 turns, it's time to look at some graphs to see what the Vietnamese have done is good enough. Or not First the GNP graph:

Manny is too overpowered in the early game with his Skirmishers. So naturally Vicky will be visited by Chu's army first hand. You'll agree with me when you see the American's land:

The 1st war in history has begun!! But our target is not York...

4 archers defending the holy Hinduism city against a small force of our elites. The result?

Now we have a religion! The critical objective has been achieved, but Victoria still has 2 cities left & is able to make a deadly retaliation blow anytime! We can't stop here yet, despite the men are deeply wounded. We'll have to push forward until we're not able to do it anymore. Or are we already? We'll see in the next episode!!

Then what do you expecting when we have only enough room for 3 cities, one among them a crappy site Once at war, Chu will be as ruthless as possible - that's why he's present at the siege of Nottingham:

Three food resources & a bunch of hills, this former capital can make a beautiful hammer hub Besides, it's providing our settlements with free obelisks, which is another lovely thing. But right now, the people here is concentrating on giving birth to a great person, a special single individual that can change the fate of the Vietnamese in a good way We'll just have to wait...

Nope, our leader just let the soldier enough time to heal their wounds before moving to Old Sarai. It's a bit lucky here we managed to lure an opponent swordsman out of the city, so no more 50% bonus for him Anyway, the city falls that turn, swordless or not. Now finally Chu orders peace treaties (yeah, treaties ) to rearrange his tattered army... In the next episode: will the Vietnamese be able to ever recover their critical economy? Or it'll be a total collapsing of the system?

You're gonna need the Great Lighthouse, the Temple of Artemis, or the Colossus to get out of this...

But most likely all of them.
