The holiday lull & giving up on the ________ GofM’s has given me withdraw symptoms! :(
As a fix, I’m proposing to start a 4-6 player a straight-up, BTS on a large Big-&-Small with islands mixed in*. (the closest to Earth-like the map generator seems to get)

Seeking other Fanatics that have nothing better to do than Civ. :scan:
How about U?

Fairly open as to choices beyond no tech trading/brokering & no city gifting (unless swapping or as forced by war).

My “druthers” are:
> Monarchy or Emperor level = more of challenge + reduces REXing.
> Raging barbs = for same reasons.
> Human leaders have 2 civs, AI have 1 (or some ratio that will fit on a large map)
> Pick your leader/civ combo(s).
> Advanced start of ~500.
> Ken Wyns.

Pls note: I am not a very patient game moderator; so pls be able, as well willing, to do 36-hour or shorter turnarounds. The man’s gotta have a fix nearly daily from some game. :trouble:

Reply with interest & your choices/options… even a short name for this game.

Here’s to a new game as we start the new year!

What about some mods? Don't you ever get bored with vanila?

I'm willing to join. Timezone +2. Are we going to play restricted or non-restricted?

Are our civs in a team or separated? I think I would prefer them to be as a team as we already have them separated in 3rd tribes and I'd like to try out how to play civs as a team. Usually we speacialize cities, what about specializing whole civs to serve to whole team? I think that could be interesting. This wouldn't be fair for the AIs though unless they're on teams of 2 also.

Also is the map choice open for negotiation? I'd like to have a non-predictable map where you don't know what's its like from T0. In B & S you know you're gonna get some overseas trade routes for example and the land division can be weird. So I propose fractal.

I'm not big fan of raging barbs as they increase games RNG dependence. Early bad luck could screw your game and with raging it's more likely to happen. I'm open to any difficulty +monarch, maybe pick a high difficulty to make AI civs harder to kill?

No mods... not for this player.
Don't trust'm & don't want to spend time learning another system. I prefer playing as designed. As for boring... BTS has got years of good fun & new challenges left in it... as long as playing other humans. :)

Please don't use this space to try to convince me. This is as advertised, straight-up BTS, not old vanilla version.

sinimusta, having 2-civ teams is a possibility. The "Instant Karma" game = 3-civ teams. 1st i'v ever played & so far, so good. Will depend on how many players sign up/are interested. I'd like to keep world size to Large for faster connections, action, & speed of play.

My experience w/ Fractal maps = lump continents & few islands. I enjoy the "historical", much-like-Earth mix that B&S with islands seems to generate. Makes for more diverse possibilities & definite mix of navy + army + eventually, air forces... & the commerce possibilities that come with offshore &/or international routes.

Agree, Raging barbs may be a bit much, especially at higher levels. Just had a city wiped out on the 1st turn in a trial run = ugh! That's a bit TOO challenging.

Happy with whatever choices. Never played with 2 or more civs before but sounds interesting.

Used to PbEM quite a lot a few years ago and currently playing a private game against my brother.

OK, seems we have enuf interest to commence.
I think we have 1 more interested... i'll chek with him.

Is everyone set up on http://www.pbemtracker.com/ ?
If not, pls do so. It's easy & free.

I will start a new thread later today to use for game.
Game name = _______?
Hearing no suggestions, i'll call it; "Civ Fix". Short name=short, easy-to-find files. ;)

Quite possibly. Be glad to have you. Trying to keep player count low enuf to fit large world.
Cheking with 1 other who expressed interest.
