This was just too absurd to not post:

Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik has threatened to go on hunger strike for better video games to alleviate his "torture"-like living conditions, in a letter received by AFP Friday.

Here are some pictures from the 'torture' cell he is forced to live in:

Yes, he actually has one cell divided into three sections. As I understand it, the pictured cells are examples and not the actual cells of Breivik.

The right-wing extremist -- who killed 77 people in a bomb and gun attack on July 22, 2011 -- enclosed a typed list of 12 demands sent to prison authorities in November.

He described as "torture"-like his living conditions, in the high-security unit in Skien in southeast Norway where he serving out a 21-year sentence.

The demands include better conditions for his daily walk and the right to communicate more freely with the outside world, which he argues are in line with European rights legislation.

He also demanded that his PlayStation 2 games console be upgraded to a Playstation 3 "with access to more adult games that I get to choose myself".
What, news of the PS4 hasn't reached him yet? Or is he just being modest?

Held apart from other prisoners since 2011 for security reasons, Breivik argues that he has the right to a wider "selection of activities" than other inmates to compensate for his strict isolation.

Breivik also wants his standard weekly allowance of 300 kroner ($49, 36 euros) to be doubled, particularly to cover his postal charges from written correspondence.

Other demands include an end to daily physical searches, and access to a PC rather than to a "worthless typewriter with technology dating back to 1873".
1860. Get your facts straight, Breivik. Next he's going to want Internet so he can troll the civfanatics forums ...

In the letter dated January 29 he said that since there has not been any real improvement in his prison conditions, a hunger strike would be "one of the only" options at his disposal.

"The hunger strike won't end until the Minister of Justice (Anders) Anundsen and the head of the KDI (the Norwegian Correctional Services) stop treating me worse than an animal," he said, adding that he would "soon" make public the starting date of his protest action.
I know animals that would KILL for daily meals and a Playstation 2. I think he confuses his prison with a recreation centre.

On July 22, 2011, Breivik killed eight people in a bomb attack outside a government building in Oslo and later killed a further 69, most of them teenagers, when he opened fire at a Labour Youth camp on the island of Utoeya.
And still completely unapologetic about it ...
The nerve!

Now I'm really interested in how the Norwegian authorities will handle his complaints. I don't think the torture claims will stick, though.

Well, the bedroom is cool, but the other two rooms look pretty cheap :( I mean this is Norway, not some lowly US/Eu trash land, those people have loads of cash and oil.

I am sure he stays in a nice prison. I wish more countries had such prisons, tbh.

And what tells you he isn't already in CFC? (with multiple accounts too, just pretending to be an Obama supporter).

If I didn't know this was in a prison Id assume it was a so-so apartment or something. I didn't know they had prisons this nice around the world, but I guess I'm being naive here.

Don't give him what he wants. Force feed him if necessary.

Naw, give him a Wii U. It's a modern cutting edge console so he cannot complain about that, but I doubt he'll find many 'adult' games for it.

What if he harms himself from playing the Wii/other consoles for too many hours without stop? I mean he did mention that he doesn't like being physically searched on a daily basis, so if he gets his way he may accidentally end up dead :(

Imagine if they gave him an Xbawks One. They could spy at him through Kinect.

Maybe they will give him online access to World of Warcraft, to see if he can get so good that he will earn a small but steady income through the game to send to his family.

This doesn't strike me as being excessive.

36 euros per week for letters???
Or they could just give him an email account like they apparently do with other inmates.

I'm pretty sure that the average street guy in many countries would actually improve his living conditions if he killed someone in Norway and was imprisonned.

Also, a mass-murderer complaining of having "only" an actual allowance of 8 €/day just makes me roll my eyes.
This guy HAS to be a massive troll.

@Akka: Closer to 4 pounds i think (36/7 is around 5 euros), but yeah, it's not like he has to pay for food or rent either.
Hu, yeah, I went into "working week" gears and counted five days a week :crazyeye:

The thing is, if Breivik does indeed start a hunger strike, the norwegian authorities are obliged to force feed him. And, depending on how you do it, this actually CAN be torture.

Link to video.

I don't think that Norway will adopt ANY Guantanamo Bay standard operating procedures, but I don't really object against Breivik finding out how much fun being fed is.

That's what you get for not having a death penalty like a proper country.

I was surprised as well. Looks like some kind of dorm room to me. Ridiculous. Better conditions than I had with the U.S. Navy.
