8 Players so far : Narz, SunIsDark, Perfection, bathsheba, RichardCrubb, SamSniped, azzaman, PeterGrimes

I haven't done one of these in at least three years but thought I'd try it once more after some interest on the chess subforum. I only have star membership on chess.com so tournament maxed out at 12 players. I've not sure the format, I think it's just one round, everyone plays everyone @ once (so 11 simultaneous games) but you have 7-days per move.

If you want to play create a chess.com account (or tell me your existing account name) & post here that you'd like to play. Accounts are free.

Note : it's a commitment of a few months, you have to sign in @ least once a week to make your moves so only join if you're super interested & won't flake out & time-out in all your games.

Note2 : Remember, maximum 12 players so if you're luke-warm probably don't join (at least not right away).

Mods please move to Chess subforum after a week in Off Topic.

As long as you remember your name & pass you can get in from any comp of course (I've probably been on cfc with 50+ computers [at libraries, friend's houses', etc.] over the last decade).

Apparently I can't be playing in multiple tournaments simultaneously since I don't have a paid account. I'll try to finish up this tournament soon if I can, otherwise you can give up my spot to anyone else.

Not sure how long it'll take to get this started. Hopefully you'll have time!
 
Oh, God. I'm very tempted. I haven't played serious chess in 20 years though.
 
I'm perfectly capable of playing terribly. ;) My last correspondence game on chess.com I was totally losing & considered resigning but played it out & when my opponent missed some tactics I got a lucky mate.

I'd be more worried about RichardCribb.
 
Cool, PeterGrimes said he will need to wait before joining so I will probably wait one or two more weeks. That'll give anyone who is still interested & not yet signed up a chance to join.

If it maxes out at less than 12 so be it. 11 games @ once is a bit much anyway!
 
Gonna start in two days or so. I invited PeterGrimes. If anyone else wants to join please let me know ASAP. I will send you PM's to all participants before we start. Once the tourney begins you have 7 days to complete you move from when your opponent moves. If there are six players you'll be playing five simultaneous games.
