subbed. I claim the title of Osiris, Lord of the Dead

I want to be Mafdet, god of justice! :hammer:

Also, I am supporting conversations as the gods, and I as the Pharaoh. For example:

Spoiler :
CaterpillarKing: This decision to raze Babylonian cities without reason is unjust! :nono:
DKVM: Razing Babylonian cities is just more work for me to do.
TheNoob: I am the Pharaoh and what I say goes! Now where did I put my crook and flail?

Can I be Anubis, god of the dead?

Since time unknown, the Egyptian people wandered around the Nile floodplains as a nomadic tribe. After many decades of this nomadic lifestyle, Egyptians slowly gathered in one spot and founded a city that is called Niwt-Rst.

Spoiler :

In this new city was the palace of Ramesses II. Ramesses ordered his single unit of warriors to explore the land around the city, and ordered the people of Niwt-Rst to train more warriors to protect the city. When these new warriors were to be completed, they will be called "Egypt's First".

Also, with the money that Egypt was gaining, they were putting 100% of their focus into scientific research. The current researched topic was the thought of superior beings. This thought was called Mysticism, and would be worked on until scientists and monks deemed it was complete.

The few people of Niwt-Rst noticed a nice source of stone to the west of the capital, and the Nile river. It produced much food, production and gold, therefore they gathered this resource to bring it to the Niwt-Rst, but not enough to be able to trade it.

The beginning of an empire was forming, and so is the secrets of the pharoah, Ramesses II.

Egypt was advancing. They had perfected their study on Mysticism, and wished to learn how to efficiently hunt and gather the animals that roamed the desert and Nile. This new topic would not take them as long to research as Mysticism did.

Outside of Egypt's borders, the warriors were exploring the west. They had spotted a source of wheat to the north, and also an oasis to the northwest. As far as their eyes could see, most of the land around them was a desert, and the warriors dubbed this desert the Sahara.

Egyptian researches and hunters perfected the idea of sustained hunting and gathering, and then wished to learn how to protect themselves from enemies and animals from afar. This new topic of study would be called Archery, and would take longer than Hunting to master.

Niwt-Rst had also finished training Egypt's First, and then proceeded to train a division of workers to work the land around Niwt-Rst, and to truly take advantage of the riches offered to the Egyptian Empire. These workers would make roads for easier travel, and do many other things to improve Egyptian life.

The cultural reach of Niwt-Rst had expanded, and so did what they could see from their own territory. There is a source of dye even further to their north, and to their east, a sea with a source of clams near another patch of land. Also, to their south, continued the Nile, and if you looked hard enough to your southeast, you could see some plains, and the end of the Sahara's reach.

Ramesses smiled in his palace, knowing full well that he could make a good home for his people, and reign for some time to come.

I will be Ra. As much as I want to get a Son of Osiris (get the AoM reference?), I think Ra is cooler.

Spiritual Council Decision!

Spoiler :
Now that Egypt is on its own feet, there is a choice that must be made on what to do next.

1) Finish worker, build scout, and focus on exploring the land
2) Finish worker, build settler, and build another city in the northwest
3) Cancel worker, build more warriors and focus on military.

Voting will be held for 24 hours.

OOC: Sorry for doing posts like this. I just realized I didn't include this in the first story post, and now I have to include it here.

Since I can't vote for wonders, I'll vote for 2.

Since I can't vote for wonders, I'll vote for 2.

I didn't put down wonders as I want another city that I can continue to build essentials and units in instead of waiting for Niwt-Rst to finish a single wonder before doing anything else. If #2 succeeds, wonders will be a part of the next Spiritual Council (which I will henceforth call SC).

Can I be Anubis, god of the dead?
anubis55.jpg

How will that work with two Gods of the Dead? From what I've read, Anubis was the God of the Dead and Embalming. Osiris was previous pharaoh of the gods and is now the God of the Dead, the Afterlife, and the Underworld. Anubis was later replaced by Osiris as God of the Dead.

Edit- I vote for option 2. Option 1 wouldn't help at this point and option 3 would be too much work having to judge all the dead soldiers when a war starts.

Well what about Osiris is focused on the afterlife and underworld. Then, Anubis is focused more on the actual death part. That means they are similar but not the same. Or one can be Gengen-Wer, god of geese. :D

I vote for 2. Justice can only be brought with power. Power can only be brought with land and size.

Maybe have Anubis act as the fatherly figure of Osiris or something. If you feel that wouldn't work out better, I'll have to deny anyone being Anubis.

I'll be Thot, god of Moon, wisdom, writing (even if we didn't discovered it yet), magic, time measurement, mathematics and geometry.

I vote option 2.

Since almost none of that is invented you are just god of the moon and wisdom :D

I think I'll go with this compromise as Osiris was also Judge of the dead while Anubis was also God of Embalming which was his most important job. Also, the fatherly figure idea wouldn't have worked as Anubis was Osiris's son or nephew in mythology. Anubis was phased out of worship after the Old Kingdom period of Egypt.

Sorry if I made a big deal out of nothing. I just really like mythology.
