I had a great time writing the story of the Armenians of Erkir D'Kner before and am back to write up the Egyptians of Kumat.

In 4000 BC, Kumat is a small settlement amid the southern hills of Kumat, a cool land with mixed forests, plains, and scrubland.

The early years of our tale of Kumat are quiet. Early Old Kingdom Militia patrols of the lands to the north of Kumat reveal little of interest, just wide expanses of plains and tundra and the occasional usable resource like crabs or deer. While the hunter-gatherers of the arctic occasionally enter Kumat with raiding parties of bowmen or primitive warriors, there are no other civilizations to speak of. However, Egyptian myth holds that there are lands across the seas where exotic peoples live, and so the leaders hope to some day be able to cross the oceans.

As the only civilized people they know, the Egyptians are able to take their time filling their continent. They find valuable resources of stone, gold, and copper near Thebes and exploit them to build great wonders like the Moai Statues and the Mausoleum of Mausollos:

By 872 BC, the Egyptians have just entered the classical era and have finally established a far arctic outpost in Heliopolis, where they plan to exploit the deer and horses they have found there.

That's it for now... the Egyptians will continue the very hard job of building an economy in forbidding Kumat until they can build ocean-going ships. Until next time!

Is that a flat map? Also subbed :D

Is there a mod? I've never heard of Old Kingdom Militia.

This is Realism Invictus. I assume there are no addons to it.

That's a mighty unhospitable land you have there!

Excellent mod, realism invictus.
Subbed.

Wow, another Egypt story. At least this one isn't DoC.
Man, that's a pretty crap start. Hopefully there's something good to the south. Subbed.

Many thanks for the interest, but this game was hopeless from the start! Let's review the fall of Egypt quickly:

Around 1000 AD, Egyptians became aware of a small city of barbarians called Libyan, situated in far northwestern Kumat. Egyptians get together a fairly large force including various infantry and cavalry. Libyan falls easily of course.

In the 14th century, Egyptians meet the first people from across the city. Chinese emissaries come willing to trade maps and later resources.

The Egyptians also meet Saladdin of the Arabs who trades them timber, amber pearls, and cattle before the inevitable happens.

1672 will forever be remembered as the day Kumat fell to the Chinese, who sneak-attacked from the sea in an amphibious without so much as landing on shore first. The rest of Kumat falls quickly and becomes just another Chinese province.

Well that story was boring, let's try again with a better start!

That was the fastest story I have ever seen. I've never seen a story that was a page in length

I'm confused. How did you lose? You still have plenty of cities.

To me that's no fun. Even if there are no interactive portions I play it as I go.

subbed

I think you're a bit late Moai

Meh, I didn't feel very committed to finishing this given that I was 100-200 turns behind on tech and miserably behind in military might. They were going to have a quick job finishing me off!
