I have the quest cultural burden. (Nearby human radio source detected) How do I know where it is so I can build an expedition on it?

Go into your Quest View and open the quest, there should be a button that finds the designated site for you.

Nope. :(

Here is a screen cap.

The worker that is selected, if he build a road on that tile, it says I will fail the quest. But my explorer has been all over that territory and sees nothing.

Hi I have the same issues with Brasilia:
- Quest to build a biofuel plant in a land locked city (though when I first had the quest, it was in the city with an algae, but I reloaded the save a turn earlier for whatever reasons and when the quest came back it was for a land locked city)
- Quest "Cultural Burden" that has no location (although I stumbled upon an hex where building a road would cause the quest to fail, so I suppose this hex is linked to quest, though if I send an explorer on this quest there is nothing to do on it)

PS: hi, yes I know, I'm a lurker and the first time I come out of the shadow is to post in the bug report. Sorry.

Moderator Action: Moved some posts from other threads to create a bug report for this.

@King Flevance - do you have any relevant saves which would demonstrate the issue?

I have a save demonstrating the Cultural Burden quest problem.

If you send a worker to the hill 3 hexes directly above my capital, it says that I'll fail the quest. I've sent 4 different units to that tile, including a worker and explorer.

+1 to this, got the same bug. Found the tile when my worker went to improve it. Reloaded game, it stayed hidden. I decided to build over it, it didn't fail. Was curious if it might restart - it didn't.

All-in-all, I could neither complete nor fail this quest.

I am also experiencing this issue. Exactly the same. Didn't know i had the quest. Tried to build a road on a specific tile, warned me that it would cause failure. I've build my roads around this hex, no where else did I get a warning. Sent marine and explorer to the hex, nothing happened and no option for an expedition.

I've attached a save. The hex in question is west of Freeland, two hexes from the Crater the is adjacent to Freeland.

I think that the bug is that the Quest isn't failing. I saw the AI doing an expedition on a tile, and then got the same message about failure. So my guess is that the expedition site is gone and the quest should be done, but isn't.

I have this too. And its awesome that Firaxis is monitoring the forums here.. one more reason I love them so :) lol Amazing game btw!

In my case, I was able to get through the first step in the quest, which gave me a choice to contaminate or not (as I recall). Many turns later, I'm looking at the quest and it wants me to send another expedition to "clean up" the xenomass pool. Except the tile isn't a xenomass pool, and if i send someone there it tells me an expedition on that tile will fail the quest.

Send a worker to the tile and then look to the right of the 'delete unit' button, there should be a button for 'Drain Xenomass'.

Got it too. 3 tiles off my capital. Looks like there's a pattern with this bug.

Hey just wanted to say this quest does work, if your not playing with 8 Players/AI. The quest is based on one of the sponsors not making it to the planet, so you'd need to play with 7 or less for it to work. Would be a good call to check with people who don't have this working if they are playing with 8 or not just to confirm. I'd say this quest is working as intended.

You can "drain the xenomass" with the same Explorer. Any unit, it would seem. There will be a button there, immediately after making the Quest decision, to drain it. If you choose the Harmony decision, then there will be an actual xenomass resource node.

I have had this quest, just did not develop the tile that gave me the quest will fail pop up, and about 20 turns later, I get the update on the quest, that a second single has been detected...

This helped me with this quest!

Once I had it drain the lake I was able to make another quest decision and complete the quest.
