This is it, my first NES!
Background:
EDIT: Okay, this summarized version of the timeline was a dumb idea, I've removed it now. I'll write a pre-game timeline later...
Anyways, if you wanna know more about the history of your country and why is the way it is, I can tell on AIM or something...
Rules:
Pretty basic storytelling rules. There are a couble of change, though: the rules might change for your country when you gain tech levels (later you might be able to grow 2 things at once, but while at level 1, you can only grow one thing at once).
At first, you only grow ONE thing at a time. It will cost you an economy level. If there is a change in this when you get better technology level, I will let you know in my updates. And you can't get a new tech level by growing it in your orders. I will decide when you get it, and the time of getting it is based mainly on the level of your education system.
Also, you might get a free economy level from time to time, depending on how lucky you are and how many trade agreements you've got - so make them, you might make money with it. You might also lose an economy level if inflation hits you. This is most likely to happen if you're at war or if you aren't doing very good in the "confidence in leader" department.
Notice that if you really hate writing stories or if you really must raise your confidence NOW, you can also upgrade confidence just as any other stat with econ. level. But telling a lot of stories does the same for free.
And one more thing... this NES is WINNABLE!!! I will count points (altough I won't tell them to you until in the end
) and points will be given based on the effeciency of your actions and diplomacy. But don't rush to get the strongest nation now - I have created a point-calculating system which gives you more points if you're not so strong to make a relatively fair competition.
Stats for armies, economy, etc...:
ARMY, NAVY, AIRFORCE:
N/A / Tiny / Very small / Small / Medium / Large / Very large / Huge / Enormous
EDUCATION SYSTEM:
Lousy / Poor / Below Average / Mediocre / Above Average / Great / Magnificent
ECONOMY:
Depression / Failing / Slowing fast / Stagnant / Static / Adequate / Growing fast / Prosperous / World-wide
CONFIDENCE IN LEADER:
Near nil / Low / Medium / High / Superb
Scientific levels:
Level 1 - you can upgrade one thing per turn and it will cost an economy level (unless you upgrade economy). Army consists mostly of cavalries and infantry, as tanks and artillery are still not very useful. Newly invented air forces aren't very effective at this point of the game, altough they can give you some support.
Level 2:
-You get good tanks instead of crappy ones in your army which makes your army better when fighting against level 1 army
-You develope good artillery as part of your army, which makes it possible to shoot down enemy planes (if you're lucky).
-You develope bombers
Level 3:
- you can develope 2 things at one turn due to increased mass production in factories (altough they will require 2 economy levels, so you can research only one thing if you don't have the money for two)
- you still cannot upgrade anything else with economy
- you will get 2 economy levels when you upgrade economy due to modern taxing system IF you have at least 3 trade agreements
Level 4:
- improved military due to better infantry, better naval forces and better air fighters and bombers.
(And no nukes until level 5
)

And here's the map!!! (countries that can be taken will be posted below).
I know that this map looks like a board game map... I just like that kind of maps more. But the game still is a story-telling game. This map is modified from the map that erez posted earlier in the map thread... not much, but many borderlines between regions have been made more realistic and one region has been added.
