Improvement Graphic request thread (Civ4 conversion)

This thread is currently dead - it might be revived at some point, but as of right now, I have too much on my plate with my custom civs and Natural Disasters project.

Not a conversion request, but do you know if it's possible to make buildings appear in the cities on the map? That would be brilliantly and incredibly awesome.

I don't think so unfortunately, but I'm not completely sure. I seem to remember having read somewhere that it's not possible to mod city graphics (not even changing the textures).

I'm curious; when you convert an improvement, do you have to rig the meshes to any bones?

I haven't had to yet. Admittedly, I've just been using a template from one of the tutorials, which incorporates a basic bone I link things like the pillaged effect to, and being able to make more complex armatures would be nice for adding more effects to models. But I've never had to rig any meshes, myself.

This is a great initiative, I always felt the need to change my plans for a civ with a UI because of a lack of custom graphics.

Since there's no request yet, could you perhaps convert the 'Kastell' model on this website? It would be used for a revision of my Macedonia mod, turning the Tvrdina into an improvement to make things more interesting. If the model is too complex or doesn't quite work, that's okay.

And if you somehow don't get other requests and feel like doing more .. a conversion of this Stecak model would be appreciated, although it's not a priority. My Bosnia mod is not used a lot anyway.

Isn't used a lot?!! Rarely play a Europe map without it..

I've actually already messed around with the Stecak model a while ago when I was trying to figure out how Blender was working. Never finished it though, but this'll be an excuse to getting it done.

I used the holy site pillage improvement as a template for all my tile imps. It requires rigging to one bone

I converted the mosque at one point in the past when I was converting several of those buildings in that set. I'll see if I can track down the files for that.

it might take some time as everything here is on standby until I've gotten my Corsica mod updated, which involves making a re-skin and conversion of a civ4 model for their musketman UU. And something in that process has gone terribly wrong.. Might have to request Civitar for some help

Like wonders? I looked into it and also looked at the coliseum. This is one I want to figure out too.
