Looks like a big announcement might be coming.

Everything have been really dead in the forum and i haven't played BE for a while so a announcement about this 2.0 patch and maybe a expansion or at least some DLC would be sweet. But if it is only some pointless lets play thing people will get sour, or at least me!

Hope it's some good news about the 2.0 thing and/or some DLC. Still been playing somewhat often as it is, hope whatever they might do makes me want to play even more. :)

Once a week, I check this forum for 2.0. I really hope that finally this is it. Fingers crossed X)

Not sure I can be there to see the live stream, hoping it will be canned & posted ASAP afterwards. Really want to play CivBE the way it should have been presented from the beginning.

Don't worry, I am sure it will be posted to youtube fairly quickly. Plus, since it will be on twitch, it will be archived there as well for you to watch later.

Meh. Missed the stream. Looks really nice though!
But it sounds like free 2.0 is not going to be free then.

Unless I'm terribly confused about time zones the stream should start in about four and a half hours.

Thanks for the links. I found the last one (PC World) to be the most interesting.

From that article:
It's all-but-expected with the Civilization series at this point. Base game: Decent, if stripped-down, foundation. First expansion: Fixes some of the gripes. Second expansion: Hailed as a masterpiece. Every. Single. Time.

I don’t quite agree as the pattern I see with 3/4/5/BE is: Base game: beta product.

For 3/4/5, the first expansion makes the game have replay value. Rising Tide might be fall into this pattern.

But note that the first expansion for IV was better than the first expansion for III. The first expansion for V was better than the first expansion for IV. GnK is actually quite a decent game on its own.

To me, Rising Tide really looks more like a bug fix than a first expansion. Also, SMAC only got one expansion, and the base game as shipped was quite awesome.

With VI on the horizon, I don’t think it is reasonable to assume a second expansion. Civ III, IV, and V all sold very well. SMAC and BE, not so much.

I will be holding out for a Steam Sale and bundle. I refuse to pay more than $30 for the whole thing. I don’t mind waiting for VI 1.0 to ship for that to happen -- as I don’t plan to pick up VI until its first expansion!
