Nooo, my medals! Both by one turn too. Well done. :goodjob:

Manpanzee - 225 BC, Turn 106, 3580 points, Deity, Domination, Standard, Standard, Arborea, Polynesia (Kamehameha) [BNW]

First of all I thought this must have been an error, then I looked a little deeper and discovered the G-Major, from which it seems that an Arborea map can consist of tiny islands! None the less this is still an outstanding achievement in my eyes and I take my hat off to you. I dread to think what you could do to my huge, marathon, deity, Polynesia effort, I would take a guess that 500BC would be well within your capabilities!

May I know after what period of time do you update the HoF

Well, in that large quick Terra culture game, I don't think it's possible to beat you by more than a turn! I think I had desert folklore, a faith wonder, and good expansion spots, and still was able to squeak out T69 by the skin of my teeth. Your game was outstanding.

My apologies on the Inca Domination game. I normally won't replay games I have entries for, but Svinopes has had a gold medal assault on of late, and I remembered that Inca game as being one I just casually played without having a very good setup. I wanted to play something quick besides a Sacred Sites game too... Plus, Tiny, Epic, Immortal -- those are all hard to find good tables for the VVV. I've been on a Tiny map binge lately. Feel free to reclaim it at any point-- it is not too long an affair.

I mentioned in a post in the GMajor thread that you should add Arborea to your list of water maps! The screenshot from Manpanzee looks like Tiny Islands.

It's all good, competition is fun, and I think gold medal results need to be the best they can be. Many of those still have room for improvement in my opinion. I'll join you and Svinopes in the gold medal race when I complete VVV, hopefully next month. :)

Good luck on finishing it. Completing the VVV is seriously a great accomplishment in and of itself, regardless of score.

Finishing the VVV is also a great motivator to get games in. I am also finding the increased HoF activity is a good motivator and sharpening overall play. If you submit a halfhearted game, you can't expect it to stay on the tables unchallenged!

Can someone pls explain me the HoF what is #1 #2 #3 games and how can one find the ranks in hof. This hof of civ 5 is too complicated to understand. Pls help.

OK, haven't seen Peets around in awhile, so I'll take a stab at going over the basics:

When you go to the Civ V Hall of Fame, you will see the following title on the page--
Welcome to the Civilization V Hall of Fame of Fastest Finishes and High Scores!

That is what the table entries show. If you look at the dropdown box entitled "Type", it is defaulted to [Dates] which lists the top 3 fastest finishes for the games with the specific settings in that table entry. Those are the #1, #2, and #3 games you asked about. The #1 game is the game at those settings that had the fastest finish. If you want to see more details of all the games submitted for each table entry, click on the number in the "Entries" column. That will take you to a screen showing you the ranking of everyone who submitted that game type in order of fastest finish.

For example, the default screen shows HoF games submitted for the Deity level. Look at the 2nd table entry down. The settings are--> Deity, Science Victory, Standard Speed, Standard sized map, Pangaea map type and Casimir (Poland ) as the player civ. Everyone who submitted a victory with those settings will have their entry listed in the HoF. You can see them by clicking on the link in #1Game,#2, or #3 box or by clicking on the number in the "Entries" column. In this case, clicking on the "8" in the entries column takes you tom a screen showing everyone's entry for that game, ranked in order of fastest finish. You can see details of people's games by clicking on them here, where you can view a general log of their game, or even download their games at 4 different savepoints!

If you want to see games ranked by highest score instead of fastest finish time, simply go to the "Type" dropdown box and select [Score]. Then you will see the same info as listed above, except games are ranked by highest score achieved.

You can view table entries (Game victory types and settings) sorted by various attributes under the tabs at the top of the table entry section. Want to see all victories people have submitted playing France (Napoleon)? Click the tab "By Leader" and then on that page select [Napoleon] in the dropdown box. All France victories submitted will be shown then.

If you want to see the overall player ranking by medal count, click on the "Summary" tab. The Veni Vidi Vici section of the HoF ranks players based on other criterion than medals.

That is pretty much it. If you don't understand the medals or the Veni Vidid Vici rankings, feel free to peruse the Hall of Fame Questions and Answers forum and then ask any further questions there if you have trouble understanding anything. Hope this has helped.

Peets is still around but I was moving to a new house.
It is finally finished :)
