Hey all,

New version inbound. Changelog is largely the same as yesterday's, with a few changes thrown in based on feedback. Should be fun!

Bugfixes, AI Improvements, Performance Enhancements:
  • CP: Adjusted coup logic to be a bit more forgiving on the delta for % values - should always be a minimum % chance to coup now, whereas before it would drop to zero in many cases
  • CP: Worked on AI archaeologist production and AI logic
  • CP: Worked on diplomacy AI quirks regarding erratic promises and whatnot (we'll see if this is fixed)
  • CP: Rewrote resource trade logic to be a bit more sane
  • CP: Toned down AI war-proclivity a little bit
  • CP: Added some functions for JFD
  • CP: Extended minimum number of war turns for AI before it will consider peace
  • CP: Fixed an advanced action spy calc bug that could cause it to overcalculate odds
  • CBP: Added LUA for city range increase in tech tree/civilopedia (will tell you which techs increase city range attack)
  • CP: Incorporated ilteroi's AI operation/plot scoring changes, city deal changes, and memory optimizations
  • CBP: Added info to deal window tooltip for votes to show you what the vote is for (as the window is too narrow to see entire text of a vote)
  • CP: Numerous smaller bugfixes, AI tweaks, and performance optimizations
  • CBP: Fixed a bug in Austria's marriage AI making it calculate gold needed for marriage incorrectly.
  • CBP: bumped mountain city range calculation to range 3 (Was 2) - will affect Machu Pichu, the Observatory, and the One with Nature pantheon
  • Circumvented EUI tooltip missing text error in menu
  • Re-enabled load save button while in-game (experimental - should work, but more testing with save states needed)
  • Fixed right-click EUI error in civilopedia in main menu (should no longer freeze game)
  • Fixed some other, smaller EUI bugs and optimizations
  • Added barbarian leader screen (for the rare times barbs get one), courtesy wodhann
Balance Changes:
  • CP/CBP/CSD: Reverted CS war-ally-no-trade change
  • CSD: CSD units more expensive, require more paper, and have extra maintenance while alive
  • CSD: Turn times between congress sessions reduced by 5
  • CSD: Edited 3 CSD Resolutions
  • Open Door/Sphere of Influence/Decolonization
    Open Door: no one can become allied to CS - influence for all civs reset to 40 with CS
    Sphere of Influence - proposer becomes permanent ally of CS until repealed
    Decolonization - target major civ has influence set to 50 with all non-permanent allied CSs.​
  • CSD: Added tooltips and other important data to make all of this stuff clear (i.e. if you hover over SOI ally, it'll tell you that you need to remove the SOI to try and surpass them, etc.)
  • I've tried to test for as many random scenarios as possible with this, however some variables may have slipped through.
  • Naval Promotion Changes:
Bombardment 1-3 now grant bonus RCS (+5%) and +20% RCS vs Cities
Targeting 1-3 now grant bonus RCS (+10%) versus Wounded U Units and +10/15/20% RCS vs Units
Boarding Party 1-3 now grant bonus CS (+10/15/20%) vs Units and +25% Flanking Bonus
Coastal Raider 1-3 now grant bonus CS (+20%) vs Cities and +33% Gold Theft when attacking​
  • Naval Melee units can now get Medic I/II
  • Buffed starting culture of landmark to +4 (was +3), also gain +1 gold per difference in era from artifact
  • Buffed starting food on chateau to +3 (Was +1)
  • Reduced first-finder gold of el dorado to 100 (was 1000)
  • Reduced occurrence chance of GBR to 50% (was 100% for some reason)
  • Increased max number of Corp franchises slightly (around 20%)
  • Increased rebase range for air units to 500% boost (Was 200%)
  • Increase range of first air units to 5 (was 4)
  • Sacred Path now 3/3 for forest/jungle (was 2/2)
  • Villages and Towns on TR/Connections now provide +1 production alongside +1 Gold
  • Hanse gets Customs House culture bonus
  • Panzer gains Armor Plating I
  • German UA yields now GAP and Culture (was gold and culture) - bonuses scale with Era
  • Reduced base Kasbah food to +1 (was +2), tech increase of culture at radio to +1 (Was +2)
  • Dojo - bonus now +2/+2 on resources (was +1)
  • Jelling Stone - now gains Culture/Production from kills (+5, scaling with era), loses tourism
  • Arena - kill bonuses scale, but reduced to +3 at start
  • Berserker - gains Charge promotion
  • Terracotta - Golden Age when finished
  • Constab/Police - buffed to 33%/50% spy reduction respectively
  • Spanish mission - can now be purchased with faith as well as production
  • Dutch UA now +4 Culture/+4 Gold (was +2/+4)
  • Forge resource production reduced to +1 (was +2) - Siege foundry not affected
  • Ottoman yields bumped to 100 from UA
  • Ship of the Line now starts with Logistics instead of Second Attack, and RCS now 28 (Was 30)
  • Babylon Walls also provide +1 science per 5 citizens
  • Fixed Tea Pavilion xml bug

Version is not savegame compatible.

Can someone walk me through an instance when the barbs might get a leader screen?
 
G, you sure you changed the range reqs for mountain-related buildings/wonders? Tooltips still say "within 2 tiles"... if it is only a typo in tooltips I don't care....
 
Horrible crash at turn 10... never had this happen before. No window, nothing, just clean crash to desktop. Cleared cache twice just in case, still happening.

Savegame attached. Press End Turn and crash. Only full CBP EUI 11.13, plus two mods that do not affect anything but displaying of info, so not to blame (and savegame can be played without them).
 
SO, I started a new game with this version, only to see if a crash would come again very early, same settings as the one before, and lo and behold, another hard crash, this time at turn 20... cannot be a coincidence, as generally I had no problems with CBP before, and even less this early. NEVER did I have two games in a row crash.

Something is very wrong with this build... I hope G finds it soon, here goes my Friday without wife...

Yup, CTD for me, too, pretty early on. Reloaded auto-save, crash at the same point again. Let me know if you need another "bad" save.

You have to settle within two tiles, but the bonuses are for within 3. Odd distinction, but the tooltips are technically correct. I'll update them for clarity, however.

Just had another CTD. I think turn 6. No other mods but the ones in the EUI version of newest CP. Whoops, forgot I have In Game Editor installed as well. Not sure if that would interfere with CP though.

I told you, those other two are not to blame, believe me, I know what I am talking about as they are my mods, I made them (Global Relations and a little personal mod that only changes animation speeds and disables voiceovers), so NO, the CTD is not related to those two.

Minidump is in the next post to the original one.

EDIT: just ran the save without those two other mods, just to make sure, and it still crashes at exactly the same turn (and the other mods are hot-pluggable.).

EDIT 2: here are the logs for that savegame crashing at turn 10.
 
I don't think France needed the buff or such a large one, at least. Also not sure what's going on with El Dorado, I've never gotten 1k gold in CBP, always 700 I think (I play on standard) so I assumed you had already changed it.

Easy there. You can't guarantee anything when it comes to mods. I started up your save and ran it, and all is well on my end. Same for other saves sent my way. I'm not sure what is wrong. I'm going to reupload everything. Also, there's no minimod attached, at least not that I can see.

Recompiled and re-uploaded all files. We'll see if this fixes it - sometimes the DLL compiler/modbuddy compiler/auto-installer/zip compiler and upload server have issues along the way.

Test and report back.

Sorry again for delay, and - as an aside - my thoughts go out to anyone with family or friends in Paris tonight.

I just noticed that none of my attachments are staying put... I see them after saving the post, but after a while I return and do not see them there anymore. Will try new version, and no need to say "easy there", I wasn't being aggressive or anything, just telling you the facts.

No offense, but some of your posts come off aggressive.
 
Thanks a lot! I'm uncertain if the change to Jelling Stones will make them worthwhile, but the extra charge on Berserkers seem pretty nice. I remember doing a berserker rush a couple months back that felt a bit too powerful, but since lots of things have changed including the authority policy tree, I should give it a try again.
