The purpose of this project is to introduce an element of mankind that has been sorely neglected in Civ series: fabrics, clothes, fashion, jewelry, perfumes, et al. The hope is a collaborative effort that brings a new, fresh element to empire building. Welcomed are artists, ideas, writers, and historians to contribute to this project.

Project Overview:
New techs (e.g. Fabric, Fashion, Jewelry Making, etc.)
New specialist, Great People, Great Works, and mission (Designer, Great Designer, Great Designs, Fashion Show)
New Buildings (e.g. Loom, Jeweler, Fashion House, Textile Mill, Catwalk, Fashion Capital)
Resource tie-ins (e.g. Cows, Sheep, Flax, Cotton, Dye, Gems)
Policies, tourism, and other bonuses will incorporate new specialist and great people
Names of Great Designers from all eras and cultures

Most bonuses contribute Culture and/or Happiness
Great Designer can be popped to perform a Fashion Show for some effect (TBD).

Include More Luxuries' amber and jade, please :).

Some of them are created by game engine. The help text is just following the standard of other buildings.

Not sure if you caught my grasp, do you want me to make some custom Icons for the Techs/Buildings/Luxuries? Like an icon to match Corporation and Fabrics? :)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. We welcome and appreciate your contributions. Thanks in advance.

So far the icons we need are:
4 Techs (Fabric, Jewelrymaking, Design, Corporation)
5 Buildings (Loom, Gemstore, Fashion House, Textile Mill, Fashion Capital)
1 Unit (Great Designer)
1 Improvement (Fashion Show)

In the long term, we'd also want the big images to showcase the Great Designs from various cultures and eras. We need suggestions for Great Designs and Designers to fill up the roster for the game to choose.

Include More Luxuries' amber and jade, please :).

I thought Gems and Jewelry already covered those. Although I'm not against degeneralizing (split up) them as they feel too broad. But if we do add new resources, we also need new icons for them.

Another idea is to create derivative resources that you can trade away, provided that the city has the right materials and buildings. For instance, cattle and textile mill makes blue jeans that other civs desire by giving you gold.

Nice idea with jeans :).

The icons of the resources are provided by Barathor's mod, I think.

I'm making a recipe system. Database creation is simple. The vast majority of work will be in the scripting and UI.

I got the game to accept my recipes and display a chart of all recipes in the database. See:

updated download file
v2.0
Added new Recipes and Building_Recipes tables.
Display all Recipes in chart inside game (click the big purple circle at the top)

Now to actually make them work and produce the resources in the game.

Here is the link to the mod he was talking about.

I agree that having your mod also be compatible with More Luxuries' would open up much more potential, it wouldn't have to be required but it could incorporate elements if both mods are downloaded.

Like dilophosaur said with Amber and Jade, those could also incorporate with the elements of the jeweler and Gem store. Lapis Lazuli, Perfume maybe tobacco (is smoking still a popular hip trend?) Could also be incorporated in the Recipes (making Quality Dress', Some popular Perfume Brand, popular cigar brand, Ect.)

First thing: is this mod compatible with 1.0.3.279 VERSION of civ v? Because seems it's not.

Second thing: this thread is hard to find. I searched for mod that adds new specialists for hole month and I didn't find this.

Adding new techs it's not good idea. Even when I have only this mod, there some kind of gliches in tech tree. Try to incorporate this mod to enlightment era or/and corporations mod. I will probably do it myself when I end balancing my deity game. You will have more techs to choose from, and there will be no problems whith compability. Enlightment era is more popular, and in corporations you can change almost everything, because no one is making this mod for years.

Now good thing: idea is brilliant, make sense, it's easy to understand and hard to use, is compatible with other mods that adds specialists, give culture (yay), and from the first look it make me feel: I want this mod.
