there you go....finally finished it after much tweaking..
i originally intended to create a ww2 destroyer...but civ3 details can only be done so much that after trying to make the ship look decent in the game, the ww2 destroyer look was nonexistent... oh well... so ill call it an escort..you guys can call it what you like
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads4/escort.zip
i included the unit32, the civpedia large and small, and i simply just did pointers to the destroyer sound since i didnt feel like making sound files with my voice..
heres a preview of the death animation..... if you want to see some ingame screenshots..refer to my preview thread..

This looks like a mix of a WWI and early WW2 destroyer, which is just what was missing in civ. The default animation is far too modern, and can now be used for that era only. A unit like this can then be the industrial era animation. Another thing I like about it is that the beam is somewhat exaggerated. If you keep the exact proportions, large civ ships tend not to look very good. In FLICster the rolling in the run anim looks a bit rough though, even if I increase the delay to the maximum...
Looks great!!!
