New Forum?

There has been talk between anarchy and I (and prolly bn1) about how easy and more organized it would be to move to a forum of our own creation, especially since our communitee is so large now. I imagine how many loyal cfc players will feel, but just cus nes is somewhere new does not mean we cant still come here.

Anarchy knows of a free place, and has already started on a message board for our use. I am thinking of making one myself for jnes. To take a step further, I was thinkin anarchy would make the homesite and webpage, and then everyone with their own nes makes their own board and can be the mod of their board. Yes, this is a new idea and I would like to hear some comments.

Sounds good. Who would mod and admin the overall board? I would volunteer to moderate along with one or two other NES veterans. I think I have an idea of a free place, but I am not sure if it will work.

The newsite has many features that outweigh CFC. Dont get me wrong, CFC is great, but the NES community has expanded to the point where we need our own MODs and better features.

Anarchy, your link just takes me to the proboards home page. If we do in fact have a new board, I would nominate Anarchy to be the Administrator and Jason and I to be overall moderators, with each person then moderating their own board for an NES.

Also, shouldn't there be like a main forum so people can announce their NESes and there can be the sticky threads we have here.

How would this be split up?

- MinionNES's (AAminion00's NES's)
--- EuroNES (Recreate European history)
------ Main EuroNES thread
------ Radnom thread started by players to discuss diplomacy 1
------ Radnom thread started by players to discuss diplomacy 2
------ Radnom thread started by players to discuss diplomacy 3

and so on and so forth? I'm just wondering because I see that the individual NES's are entire folders.

There are however, some reasons why I wouldn't like this. For one thing, it's always been nice to just have this be a nice little corner of Civfanatics. But the biggest reason is that being part of Civfanatics gives NES a lot of exposure, meaning more and more new blood. If we had this thing go renegaede onto a completely new site, how many people would really join us eventually?

Breaking up NESes into several threads will completely change the dynamics of the NES. IF we were to get a new forum, it should probably bee divided into:

-General
-Help
-Board NESes
-Story NESes

None of this 'a forum to each mod' crap.

I think we can transition from here. We can still advertise NES from here, as I am still planning on remaing a participating member of the Civ3 DG and the Off-Topic/History sections. We could have thread with a link to the new NES forum on here. Besides, look at in for the benefit of CFC. It will clear up TONS of clutter, as we probably are some of the biggest server hogs here with all of our maps and images we post here all the time, along with our numerous threads.

The problem with more organization is that NESes as we know them (with the exception of one or two rulesets), don't work like that.

I say there should be a main thread at the front of the page explaining quickly the history of the forum. Nothing lengthly, just for new users, explaining that we used to be on civfanatics.com, and that this is based on civ3, but then left onto this message board.

We have no reason to move. Anything we want moderated, we can just ask. CFC has been a good home to NESes.
