Greatest NES military Campaigns

What are your favorite/best commanded/best wars or parts of wars in NESes. Please tell about them here.

The one on the top of my mind right now is the Russian campaign in the Russian Crusade in Return to Our Roots 2. SKILORD used the harsh Russian weather and advantage of his cavalry to take advantage of the Roman, German, and Spainish lack of mobility, and held off armies 4 times his size.

When Russia couldnt manage to hold off the huge Mongolian forces and then Russia collapsed in my 2444nes: no pressure NES

hhhmmm, I cant think of one...

well, I know my best warmongering campaigns was in 444nes2, until I collasped like China444 said.

As for someone else... I haven't been playing long enough to witness this.

EQ, what page is the Russian Crusade you were talking about start? I want to take a look.

it has been the greatest NES ever.
Loved the wars against Zulu.....
I think the Iron Fist-EU war deserves a place in this thread, what world war was that? I never lost a war in RTOR2, go for Aborginia the GREAT!

I would say the combined conquests of Sumer

First i took the economic powerhouse of Israel, streetching my power to the Meditarannian.

Then I took Georgia which was hard, kept at my toes in the moutains. Those Georgian peasents are some hardcore fighters.

Finally it would be Kazakstan as my favorite conquest. I ripped Kazakstan apart and took it as my own.

oh, and I would like to include my conquests and annexations as Spain in PumaNES.

First I annexed Portugal for 2 economy levels (which was alot at the time).
Catalans and the Basques were fighting. I awaited until they killed each other.
Then the Gauls helped the Basques against Catalan.
Which gave me the oppertunity to annex Catalan and protect them.
Sending me into war with Basque and Gaul.
I took out the Basque quite easily and constructed a wall to protect from the Gauls as I conquered Basque.
And then I allied with France against Gaul which led to the destruction of the Gauls and thier capitol went to France.
Expansion of Morrocan Colony... they rebel... we annex them again several years later with a small territory and good diplomacy.
I attacked France with one ally against thier allies Entrucia.
I made peace with france Doubling our territory and leaving them with a small piece of land.
Almost cnquered Scotland.
And now I am at war with Rome.

Wow that was long...

I would have to agree with amirsan. His conquests while leading Espania in my nes is nothing short of very impressive. While he may disagree sometimes and think he should be winning more i think his record speaks for itself, that and his combined territory....

My favorite was my first ever, in JNESIX and Yugoslavia. I overran Hungary and Austria (neutral nations), then was able to turn on Germany and take Prague and Munich (or whatever the southeast territory was) and bought Berlin from Sweden. My campaign would have gone on if the game had continued. The other notable campaign from that game which is worth mentioning was Kenelly's as Italy. That was amazing.

I would have to say the campaigns of Italy in JNESIX as naervod said, he damn near won a board game. I have no doubts that he could have conquered Europe had it gone on.

I'd also say Warman's wars in the Middle East in stJNES4, one of the best national expansion I have ever seen.

So far Toasty's expansion in stJNES5 into Normany shows great skill of tactics and planning, definetely a must when conquering a nation your size.

I think the Arabian defence against China, EGypt and India proved good in rtor2. I staved off defeat then, with only a city left I liberated my entire nation.

In stJNES4 I agree Sumer's record is great but lets not forget who was the world Empire, France was! France was perhaps the best nation NEsing has ever seen, and who led the push to bring it back down to earth? Egypt!
