Ok, I think is no too difficult to discover that I'm in mind to create a scenario for italian Risorgimento.

The map is Standard Italy by Fuma.

The Powers:

Piemonte kingdom

piemonte.jpg

Leader: king Vittorio Emanuele II
UU: bersagliere (under construction), dragoon?

Granduke of Tuscane

toscana.jpg

Leader: granduke Leopoldo II
UU: none

Duke of Parma

Leader: duke Carlo II
UU: none

Papal State

papa.jpg

Leader: pope Pio IX
UU: swiss guards

Two Sicily kingdom

Leader: king Ferdinando II
UU: none

Duke of Modena

modena.jpg

Leader: duke Francesco V
UU: none

Lumbardy-Veneto (Austria)

veneto.jpg

Leader: feldmarshal Radetzky
UU: hussar, jager

The coalitions:

The Italians
Piemonte, Modena and Parma vs. Austria
Tuscane, Papal and Sicily neutral

Period: 1848 - 1870

The problem is name for leaders (some generals, some indipentists like Silvio Pellico...) and UU missed. Ideas?

Are you going to use those crests as the replacements for the leaderheads? If so, I think it looks good. :goodjob:

When is the starting year?

EDIT: And are you going to make The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and Piedmont in a locked alliance together?

Ok, I have edited #1 post meanwhile you're writing this.
Yes, they are the leaderheads

For coalition:

Historically, all italian states are in the 1848 coalition vs. Austria, but after 2 months only Piedmont fighted Radetzky. Other monarchs (yes, pope was a monarch :king: ) are not happy for Piedmont foreing politics: actually, they are reason: Italian kingdom was Piedmont one! So, I think that only little duke are in the coalition (Parma, Modena and Tuscane were annetted by Vittorio Emanuele on 1861, after French-austrian war on 1859). For more historical information, visit this thread.

Rufus, I think you should call this the "Italian Unification" rather than the "Italian Independence". If it was the independence after Napoleon's conquests, then I would understand.

But remember that Piedmont-Sardinia was the first kingdom to unite Italy, constituting the monarchical constitution...

Ok, Risorgimento is Italian unification, but also Indipendence from Austrian predominion. So, the 3 wars are called Indipendence wars.

Oh so you're not going to do it on Risorgimento? Then I guess it's fine. I just love late 19th century Italian history.

Garibaldi still looks more like rasta than a general to me. Maybe it's the lack of uniform?

BTW, if you're interested, I could make leaderheads with monarchs, or are you using these CoA as them? Oh and pics for foreign advisor as well.

Won't there be any France present? If not, UU for Sardinia-Piedmont could be the French. Austria should get Croat light cavalry or just better infantry (generally better equipped and especially organized).

Garibaldi was not a general of Piemonte army, but a general of volunteers which are italian patriots. He also combatted for indipendence of Sud America (Republic of Rio Grande and Montevideo). Victor Emmanuel knew his force and used him to liberate South Italy.

Piemonte was a "frenchized" kingdom, but I don't want to introduce France as powers (or I must introduce Prussia too). For UU, I'm making bersagliere, light assault troops of Piemonte army.

For Leaderheads, I use the arms of kingdoms (the first pictures) and for advisor, I want to make Mazzini 4 domestic adv. I try to use only great important "founder father" of Italian nation.

Republic of Rio Grande and Montevideo... and what a smashing success that was! ;)

But yes, Garibaldi was certainly not a Piedmont general.

How are you going to incorporate him into the scenario? As a fighting force that is....

He also was conctated by Lincoln to become US leader on Civil war, but he refused...

 Yes, I heard about that.

He also asked Benito Juarez to spare the life of Maximilian of Mexico, but Juarez refused... which was very difficult for him because he looked up to Garibaldi.

Ciao Rufus
