OK, lately I have been seeing some SERIOUS dumbness in they way MODs here MOD thier games. Now I am clearly not the best mod but I definetly know how to do updates fast, efficient and risk-free. I suggest everyone read this is maybe even post comments and your own "ways" of modding. Now this is how I did it with my last two NESs.

First when I posted the NES I made a folder on my computer especially for the NES and nothing else. Then I copied and pasted the Rules from the forums to a word document of mine and saved it in my folder as "RULES". Now I have the rules for anytime I need it.

Then I made another word document like "RULES" for all the stats. I copied and pasted the player stats from the forums to the word document and named it "STATS".

I did the same as above for Timeline, and Histograph and all that other stuff. Then I saved my last map in the folder as well and named it according to the year. Now my folder is all setup and organized! Nothing is better than being organized.

Now its time to do the update!

Now almost all of your orders are in and you are ready to update your NES so your people dont start screamin at you...

Step 1: Open your folder and open all the word documents that you made a little bit ago. Now you have all the info (except orders) you need to start updating without opening any posts.

2: Go to your last update and start reading the first set of orders, (if there's alot of diplo then I suggest you read all of it before starting update so you are known of any alliances and stuff).

3. Now do everything for that nation (ie. paragraph update, map, stats, timeline).

4. Then go on to the next nation and do the same thing until you have done every nation.

5. You are finished, look over your update and all the stuff and now its time to post it to the public!
***

OK, now its time to put it in your thread.
1. Simply copy and paste your real update into a post and post it.
2. Start uploading your map.
3. While your map is uploading go to your first page.
4. Open your stats post and copy and paste from your word document to your post on the thread.
5. Do the same as step 5 for your timeline and all that other stuff.
6. Post the map.

Now your done with your update!

Hints:
-Use .PNG for your maps, it looks the best.
-For a just beggining NES, UPDATE EVERY OTHER DAY. Any sooner will not get your orders and any later would make the game TOO SLOW.
-Do diplo for your players as fast as possible so they can get thier orders done (I usually do it the day after I updated while I remind those that I am updting the next day).
-Remind people that you possibly cannot update the day you was supposed to.

Thats all I got for now, post your comments. Maybe even sticky this. :)

Amirsan did I tell you how I update? Cus that is exactly what I do (except the timeline stuff).

You forgot to mention that you also open your map while you are updating and do thet map accordingly. Basically, you read the orders, then go along the bottom of ur taskbar to each word pad and paint program until you finish doing whatever your doing for that nation, then move on and repeat.

Back when I ran NES's I would have a window open with the page with stats,a page for reading orders,a page for reading what happened last update, and the map all at the same time...no need for word pad I say.I always update the worlds stats first then subtract when the battle losses are figured.

Copycat!!!!!! :p
