More and more I am seeing these pacts, which inlcude MPP's, DPP's, NAP's etc being taken granted for. If you aim for realistically playing an NES and not just out to win it, than you should treat the treaties you sign with "respect". Don;t just sign a pact cus you want to be friends more. Sign it for a period of time, maybe say to be reviewed in x amount of turns, and honor it.

More and more i see DPP's being broken just becuase "it does not involve me" even though it does cus the DPP is legitametly activated. Or people don't want to honor DPP cus it would hurt their nation.

Play cautiously! Play for the story, not for the win!

Jason

The Mod should make rebels in your country if you break a DPP. I play to win, but also realistically.

Yeah, I fully agree with this. However we must kepe in mind that extenuating circumstances will cause some treaties to be broken and also private secret alliances can be denied.

I dont think ive ever broken a DDP , or MPP even an NAP. Tho i have taken my time to send aid sometimes

lol. jason, i love people like you in board games. "Honorable" is just SOOOOO big a weakness. lol.

i make aliences and naps to keep people off my back while i grow big enough to crush them.

you're right, the way i use them, i realy SHOULD make them for X turns, but considering how quickly some games collapse, that 5 turn allience can be a real pain.
besides, that would be like giving them a warning of when i'm turning on them.

What's a DPP?

And for those knowing even less than me: MPP=Mutual Protection Pact
NAP=Non-Aggression Pact.

DPP is stupied
Defensive Protection Pact
Defesive=protection so it's like syaing defesinve defesinve pact

Defense protection pact- the countries will defend each other in case of an agressor nation however will have no obligation in an offensive

the big problem with a DPP is that its hard to define what a defencive and what is an offencive.

its sort of like trying to figure out who "started it" in a elementary school fight. its impossible.

"I attacked him cause i know he was going to attack me, so i'm defending, so you have to help or else you're a lier and i'll attack you."
how do you react to that from a DPP ally?

I try to play all my NESes as diffrent persons.
Like in RTOR2 where I was honorable and didn't break a deal. Or as in WW2 NES where I totaly backstabbed the allies....
Ive also tried to play crazy and such things. In a NES that died infant I had decided to play as mr Nice-Guy, but as I said it died infant.... :(

thats true heine... it should depend on how you want your story to go as said from Jason, "its about story". And so you can make "backstabbing" part of your stories BUT accept the concequences in your stories and make them realistic as possible.

Anarchy pulled that on me in 444nes2. He made a NAP and one turn later he attacked me, that is truly the worst... like ONLY one year? Then why sign it in the beggining>?

You shall not take Anarchy into this.
Just learn 1 thing, NEVER EVER trust him, he is the most warmonger person in the NESworld....

Nope!

Nope!

You took the words out of my mouth. Luckily I read on and saw you posted this, or I would have posted the same exact thing, lol.

It is very hard to determine this, and should be assesed before signing anything.
