Alright, I am getitng sick of the usual 4000BC neses and it is my hope this will add variety into the marketplace.

This is a NES based off the Sim City series. Each player owns a city of which he can set taxes, pay for Ordiances and even set up trade deals with other cities. The idea is to get as many people in your city which starts off as a village, as quickly as possible, and to stop your citizens from packing up and moving to your neighbours. Each turn will take a year.

Due to its unusual nature, this nes WONT USE MAPS! Instead it will use various graphs, and each city will have a seperate post for all its stats. In the orders you must tell me what to change, don't assume I will read it off the thread, cause I wont. Only things in orders will make it to the city confrence. Due to the projected workload I am willing only to take eight players on. As this is a trial run of the game it is likely there will be rule changes and such as I work out bugs.

Rules

First off you must name your city. This NES will rely on random occurances much more than the ordinary stock hence why I have made a table for what will happen, rolling a D66 (two six sided dice). Each turn each city will receive between one to three random occurances, some will be bad, majority of them are good.

Second of all is population. People will be attracted to your city if it has a good public system, good public transport, police, fire coverage, hospitals and jobs. Not to mention if the taxes are low. As the Mayor you have to manage this to the best of your ability, the never ending struggle of not taxing too much but having enough to pay the bills. Therefore you must set up a tax rate for rates and what not for your city.

This table shows you which money will be put where. The more poplation you have the more money you will generate from taxes. Remember certain laws can be passed such as parking metres to argument your revenue. The other way is you can get a loan. However beware each loan of 10,000 dollars will have 5%pa intrest compounding and will be due in 10 years.

PS. you all start with 1,000 citizens and 10% tax rate. It will get you a little less than what you need to get everything working for you well to start off with.

All right, I'll join. But I'll need some more information. What do we start with in treasury, tax revenue, etc? Most of the stuff cannot be filled out until then.

Ordnances: Will this be like SimCity, where a set of ordnances gets brought up and voted on, and a majority has to approve them?

No. Not until you rreach 10,000 people and a full city. Until then you are the sole councilor and therefore the mayor without need of vote. Remember I am working on this as we go along to try and make it a viable alternative NES series.

Before I update, I need Constatine and Azale to send my budgets and I need ONE more city. Also any Ordances you wish to invoke would be good. Remember Ordances are not voted on or proposed by the city until it reaches 5,000 citizens to give you some breathing space.
