? re: GL spawning

In my current game, I got a SGL, and decided to sit on it and save it for when I needed a wonder. I had several Elite units out in the field, and not a one of them spawned a MGL. This was for 20 - 30 Elite wins. Perhaps a few more. Okay, I realize that it's 1 in 12 (with Heroic Epic, which I had) and that they can be few and far between. I just thought that it was weird that I wasn't getting any. So I finish Computers, rush SETI, and that same turn, four elite wins later, I spawn a MGL.

So, can you not spawn a MGL when you already have a leader? Or am I just unlucky this time around.

And I'm pretty sure that you can have more than one SGL, right?

Interesting... So you're saying that you can get multiple SGL no matter how many and what kind of GL you already have, but it seems you can't have a MGL when you already have one GL ?

Well I'm POSITIVE I've already had MGL while a SGL was sitting in my capitol, so I think that you were unlucky
And yes, you can have more tha one SGL at any given time.

You're not the only one with MGL bad luck. I had 45 elite battles before I got a MGL (and that's not counting the ones I *DIDN'T* count).

No MGLs will be generated if you already have a MGL or SGL. You can have multiple SGLs. I do not know if the presence of a MGL removes the chance of SGL, however.

Can we get any confirmation of stivomali's info?

i always thought you couldn't have 2 leaders at once regardless of what kind it was

I've suspected this for a while, and have been looking for situations that disprove it, to no avail (~ 5 Epic games).

I reckon that if the former is true, the latter probably is also; again I've been looking, and this hasn't been disproved.

If the code that deals with Leader exclusivity is active on MGLs but not SGLs, then the above would all make sense; given the proviso that the code doesn't distinguish between Leader types.

So much for banking SGLs. But I guess if I've already gotten an MGL, like this game, it wouldn't be that big a deal. Not like you can rush a lot with it. I mean, I won't waste an MGL on a uni or anything like that. SM maybe, depends on the situtation.

no, i'm pretty sure i've had a an sgl and an mgl at the same time... plus, if im not starting to imagine things, are u sure that u can't have several sgl's at the same time... couse i could almost have sworn......
