One thing i had to try as soon as i got the expansion was the conquest. Of the all the conquests, which is your favorite, and why? What civ you take?

Personally, the WW2 campaign is my favorite, i always take japan(:sniper: i'm just drawn to em). The strategy in the map is awsome, the music really helps the amibience, and i think the first turn idea is brilliant.

My least favorite is middle ages...i just really hate the idea, the units, and the civs(arabs in spain...what the) and the obligation to conquer jerusalem to deliver the treasure.

How about you?

What's wrong with the idea, units and civs

Have you heard of Crusades?

Middle Ages is my favorite conquest:goodjob:
Followed by Mesopotamia and Sengoku:cool:

Personal opinions, it'S a free a country. Anyway, i admit mesopatiam and sengoku are real sweet. And unfortunalty, i don't know that much of midevil history. Maybe historical interests affect opinons on conquests

Other than the Intro Conquests (which I thought were a lot of fun; why don't they keep the scores for those?) I've only played Mesopotania. I won pretty handily (as the Summarians), so I enjoyed that...

The WWII one does look very interesting (I've loaded it as a few different civs just to get a look at it) but also very intense.

i voted Rise of Rome, but Middle Ages and Sengoku are just as fun imo

i dont really like the meso scenarios for some reason, and WWII is indeed, as Qpdaj stated, very intense.. i've started it but only gotten a few turns into it

I love the Rise of Rome and the Middle Ages

the one I didn't like was the Fall of Rome

Try the Middle Ages as either Denmark, Norway or best of all Sweden. Then you'll understand what Viking Power really means!

Middle Ages is the best Conquest by far. Rise of Rome has potential, but it needs a name change; Rise of Persia, perhaps?

Oh, and Tranquility? Get your facts straight and look up the Caliphate of Cordoba. You look like an idiot otherwise.

Mesopotamia is by far the worst, because there is nothing to stop the unhistorical proliferation of cities (on the desert too  )

The best, I don't know yet. The Conquests really aren't my favorite part of the new XP. I've never played one out so far, because there is always an annoying thing which bothers me too much :(

my personal take on the conquests? here's my very very very humble (and probably worng) opinion

i see C3C players as 2 types of conuesters:

Type 1: rise of rome, fall of rome, middle ages, shogun, napolean sometimes Age of Discovery

Type 2: WWII, mesopotamia, mesoamerica, shogun, sometimes AoD, napolean

peronaly i'm mostly a type 2, my favorites: WWII, mesos, shogun, AoD,
type 1 is basicly a moded version the epic game focusing on expansion, and unique (althoguh in my opinion odd) victory conditions
type2 is for people who like war, or aggresive diplomacy (a mixture of war and peace) often going for victory point wins

i like war, but i don't want it to envolp 540 turns, which is why i like the conquests, wars with a purpose, short, and sweet, with a time for expansion between wars

Middle ages, followed by Mesopotamia,Mesoamerica and Napoleon
but I'm more a type 2 I guess because I research heavy cavalry
then it's on to jerusalem. The Byzantines rule.

I liked Rise of Rome most so far.

Middle Ages as the Danes was over too quickly, but it is well done otherwise.

Age of Discovery was a disappointment; great idea, but I had more treasures that I could ship to Europe, it was good but flawed.

Mesopotamia: Really good - but I would have liked a more conquest-based scoring System. It was rather shallow to win by building the 7th wonder or wait until someone does and win by score

I am playing Mesoamerica right now; it is extremely boring. Few unit types, little diversity in building options. I will continue it tomorrow and either win by destroying the Inca with a lot of Silent Hunters and Jaguar Warriors or just after 175 turns. Somewhat boring!

I am looking forward to Fall of Rome, perhaps I will even try WW2. I do not like Sengoku too much, I love the European Medieval Times and do not care much for Samurai, Ninjas and so on...

I liked the sengoku best. Very crowded, so u dont have to manage a large empire, and theres no modern warfare where the ai really sucks. And lots of civs to kill.

I really cant handle playing in those scenarios where u start of with a bunch of cities (like rise of rome). Dont know why, but i have to build everything myself. I liked fall of rome though, was a nice change from the usual games.

Well, I havn't played through any of them yet, but I like Rise of Rome the best (maybe because I'm a rome buff)

And, yeah, Arabs conquered most of Spain. THey tried to invade france, but failed. It wasn't until El Cid and his predesecors that Spain was under christian control.

I've got Sengoku and WW2 running at the moment. They're both pretty good.

WW2 is probably the best- I'm playing as the US right but playing as Japan look like it would be a real challenge.
