I dont get it. What was so much fun about nes before many of us newbies cam here? Is NES dying? Every week one or two players leave. What is happening?

Is it becuase nes is becoming more of MODs wanting to become like stJNES4 or something with like 20 players playing, and rivalries? Is it becuase its not the 'post your story' and I will post mine, type of thing?

I wish we can make a nes like that. I have tried many times before. I want a nes like RTOR2 where even 4 players can have fun and there is no need for so many. Eight players at most can make for a nice a populated game with alot of random events and big nations. Like the way china444 and eqnes mod... I only wish I looked more into nes when I came here about a year ago not understanding any of these threads.

Anyways, I am trying to revive and make a nes like the one I explained above, no need to advertise it here, so if you want to know, just look in this forum for an empty thread I posted.

But the point is, why dont we try and make it like it was before instead of whining and saying its not like it anymore and quiting.

This just sucks, and for me, I have only been here sinse August which is a mere 7 months, and for me, thats not enough and I am also becoming bored....

What is becoming wrong?

perhaps people are betting bored ::gasp::

perhaps people don't want to play ::gasp::

perhaps NES is dying ::double gasp::

perhaps some one needs to satrt the next rtor2, stjnes4/5.

I think the fun is slowly dying as we turn into complex types of nesing. we need more simplicity. That way you don't have to keep track of 20 things at once and you can have fun ^_^

perhaps people are sick of whinny little imature brates that when they don't get their way they start crying about it.

I just started one in result of all of this... and to make nes more than just complicated rules and winning...

Some of the best NES's (uknes2 and 4) had considerably difficult rules. I do not think that is the problem.

Well I don't consider uknes2 and 4 one of the best nes's becuase i don't like board game nes's and i never played in 'em.

tho many have, lol. and they should be considered one of the greatest nes's, even though they were board.

I consider an NES great if it was the main nes of it's time. Those two were very much so the main NES of their time.

nesing has always been like this, people go, people come back, is not dying, just a transition, we are merely witnesing the withdrawal of us, the elder generation, we have seen several people joining, some starting new neses, jsut to be put down by some individuals.

nesing is not dead, but our nesing generation is.

I will never leave NESing, I tought about it many times and understanded that I just can't, too adicted into it... I CAN imgaine myself NESing in the age 30...

i think its a complete lack of new ideas or even repetition of differnet ideas, im in 1 nes and thats Stalins Neo nes i like it its different but all the others seem to be the same

NESing won't die, it may just go ill, but eventually it will be reborn. If it dies, someone will ressurect it - I might want to do that.

Good! As long as there are people like you and erez who don't want to quit just because of some failures, NESing won't even go down.

amen

As long as we "new" NESers continue this and MOD good NESs and play good in NESs, then NESs will survive. I don't think it's because of simplicity or difficulty of rules. For many, the main factor is simply time. I mean I know that has been a big negative factor for me in the past month or two. Now I'm more free and yet everyone's leaving. Well, I won't leave, and hopefully at least the "new" NESers will also stay.
Well, anyway, as long as the new generations keeps churning out good NESs, the NES section of the CFC Forums will continue.

I quit cause I got addicted to Civ3, and then got addicted to Civ3: Conquests. But I'm back.

I surf the forums every once in a while to see what ppl are up to. The reason I can't consistantly stay in nes is because of the amount of time I don't have nor can justify giving. It's tough making the change from high school to college. Just like growing up, you just lose time for things you enjoy, and now I have to work and go to school. It sucks but I never left because I was bored or ideas ran dry. I very much believe in simplistic rules and letting the players make the action, cause I've played in UK's stuff and just gotten totally lost, and I've played in RTOR2 and loved it, especially when you can make people hate you in a nes for your past actions ;) . It all boils down to, do I want to sit at the compter and type for 2 hours, or work for 2 hours and make 30 bucks.

Well Amirsan, I first off don't think I should be categorized as a mod with EQ, who I think had the best NES ever in these forums (no offense jason).

Secondly, the reason my modding style is so much similiar to EQ's is because I have apadted many of his rules and we have talked to each other about modding many a time. I think the reason we have NESes the way we do is to make it fun, simple, and a good place for players.

Lastly, NES is not dying. If it was dying, my latest NES would have succeeded. ;)
